Saw this a couple weeks ago and loved it. Was thinking about seeing it again today but ran out of time to see the early show.
The animation was great in this movie. There were times it looked live action instead of animated.
My only small complaint is the offset printing process they used to simulate a comic book feel. Sometimes the backgrounds were distracting.

I picked up "Spider-Verse" (2014) and reading it now.
Do you think it should have been nominated for Best Picture?

Watched this last night. LOVED it.
Sony made this?? Amazing. Seems like they let the creative team have full control and they nailed it.

I didn't realize how great the soundtrack was by itself. I just listened to it today and really enjoyed it. This movie really is the complete package. Can't wait to watch it again soon.

I just caught up with this on Netflix last week. It's a really good, fast, funny film that looks amazing.
Regarding a certain plot point, the spider that bit Miles says "Alchemax 42" on the back, so is some sort of experiment, but it is also glitching. That means it's not from Miles's universe. Where did it come from? Is there supposed to be a fixed "one spider-person per universe" thing, and there's now a universe lacking a spider-person? The movie introduces time travel, with Gwen falling back a week, Peter B Parker being older, and Spider-Man 2099 travelling back to 1967 in the post-credits scene. Did it get planted there on purpose to bite Miles by someone in the future, knowing that there needed to be a spiderman from that universe to stop the collider so all the others could go back?
Also, I found these two interesting Youtube videos that go in detail about the animation styles and tricks that they used for the movie:

I finally caught this on Netflix. It was really quite incredible. For someone who never really followed the comics I never felt like the movie was playing over my head. I assume there was a bunch of references I probably missed but overall I felt like the movie was completely understandable for non-comic book readers.
It took a few minutes for me to get into the animation style but once I realized it was supposed to resemble pages of a comic I accepted it. At times, the animation was so beautiful I actually got lost in the look of the movie.
I have yet to watch Far From Home (I’ll rectify that this weekend) but this is probably my favorite Spider-Man movie ever. Just amazing all around! I loved it and there was humor that actually made me laugh at loud several times.

I might have said this before but this along Spider-man 2 are my favorite Spider-Man movies
And i do think like 50 years from now many of the live action Spider-Man movies might be forgotten or looked at as symbols of their times. Whereas Into the Spider-Verse will become timeless.

What do you guys think about a potential sequel?
IMHO Honestly even though this movie really lends itself well to a sequel I can't see how a sequel could live up to this movie and might bring it down in a way. One of the biggest thrills of this movie is how unexpected and refreshing it was. I don't see that being able to be replicated.

nothing will capture the magic of this film. no sequel, though, of course, they'll be one. this one was truly special, from the animation to the voice acting to the fucking fantastic soundtrack!

Man, I just saw this for probably fourth time. Still caught things I missed and still thrilled me. What a great movie. And this guy who plays Miles, Shameik Moore sounds like a teen and if you watch the extras he clearly is not. He has got such a great young voice coming from someone almost 30. It was weird seeing him in real life and hearing him.
