re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
I’m guessing ‘S’ stands for “You’re Fucked!”
I liked the Man of Steel trailer imagery (empty swing, wheat field at sunrise, Kent-esque mailbox). |

Really such a simple idea, amazed that it hasn't really been explored before. I'm in!
I have to say I really hate Sony's practice of putting snippets of the trailer in front of the trailer on You Tube. Just let people watch it as it was edited -- they'll see the good stuff in a couple of minutes anyway. |

You think DC will make waves for it being close to supes origin? I like the idea and agree about it not being tried before.

Diggin' the Trailer! Slight twist on the Killer Kid/Evil Kid Sub-Genre of Horror Films.

Re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
Holy crap! Not a horror guy so I will wait until this hits cable and I can fast forward bits I think I cannot handle and rewind to watch if they are not too grisly. I say again, holy crap! -eek- |
Re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
I love that the Brightburn apes the Man of Steel trailer so closely, except for it's aiming for scary. You've got the rural landscape shots and they even used the same font and fade-in animation. It even plays off Superman Returns a bit. In that movie, Superman saved a plane full of passengers. In this one, Brightburn crashes it.

Re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
Ok I guess there needs to be one. It is no different than some creature landing on earth and terrorizing us. I don't see it as all that big of a revolution of the genre. This would be a rental.

I got to watch a screening last night and I'm not sure what I just watched. lol
Half of me liked it and the other half is like wtf did I just see. I will probably have to watch it again to figure out if I want to add the BD to my collection. Can't wait to discuss this one. lol |

Re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
I don't why but I find the premise of this film very disturbing. Maybe it's because of what I know a being like that can do? Not having clue as how they'll stop him? It is fucking with me....

Re: Brightburn (2019, P: James Gunn, D: David Yarovesky) -- S: Elizabeth Banks
After sleeping on it. It had some cool fucking screens and I would rate it 3.5/5. Spoiler:
