Rented this off Fandango Now.

Wow, this movie is fucked up. That kid is cold blooded. And people think the DC shows on TV are dark and too depressing? This was pure sadistic and evil violence.

Elizabeth Banks was great as the Mom. But man that last scene with her and the kid.

I liked it quite a bit. Nice spin on the superhero subject, and a good enough horror film in its own right.

While I enjoyed this film. The Boys is on a completely different level.

I guess they're hoping for a sequel.. since it wasn't clear what his purpose was or what the visions and voices were. Just weird that the kid could have his switch flipped just like that. Seems like he's more Doomsday than Superman.

The after credits or during credit scenes hint to there being others. I would love to see another one made...

I hope it gets one. It made 32 million on a 6 million budget, so they would have to go on a low budget again and hope that it makes more than the original.

Watched the BD tonight with The Mrs....first watch of this movie for us.
She ended up getting too scared, but I stuck with it.

As a sardonic flip of Superman mash-up with Damien of The Omen, it works.
IMO, this is one of the better horror flicks I have seen this year.

E. Banks was very good in her role.
The kid lacked charisma...OTOH, this worked reasonably well with the character as written.

AV was excellent.

I saw this during its theatrical release but saw it again at home this week. For me, it did not hold up very well for a repeat viewing. The movie just seemed like a bunch of jump scare scenes stitched together with very little else to offer. The "Psycho Superman" idea that seemed so good when this was in the theater has since been done so much better in "The Boys" that this movie now seems too shallow of a version of that idea.

Oh well, it was at least good once for me. Whether that would also be true to someone who had already seen "The Boys" is something I doubt.

Yeah, that was certainly overdone.

I enjoyed this one. I enjoyed the carnage and gore. Even at her advanced age, I'd still bang Grandma Banks.
