About 5 to 10 years ago, they did somehow streamline the Oscar ceremony down to about the range of 3 hours 15 minutes for a few years. But now it's bloated back up to around the 3 hours 45 minutes range again. So they need to go back to whatever it is they were doing just a few years ago to get the runtime down.

I dunno with Netflix, Prime, Youtube, etc, watching a bunch of rich snubs kissing each others ass fro 3 hours is a lot lower in the entertainment list

Re: Wouldn’t Jimmy Fallon make an excellent Oscars 2019 host?

-The next 2 hours were utterly boring of the minor awards that nobody cares about, and endless dance sequences, bits, or something that would promote the Best Picture/Best Song categories.
This kills the show.

The Golden Globes are so much better where almost all of the awards are major awards and not 2 hrs of special effects and other minor categories though important but don't make compelling TV.

Maybe let everybody drink during and before the show.

-The first half hour is good as you have the Host usually does 15 minutes, then they would start off with Best Supporting Actor and Actress Awards. Those awards always threw a curveball at the predictions (Marisa Tomei/My Cousin Vinny for example), so they were always interesting to see how they played out.

-The last 30-45 minutes was the best part with Best Actors/Actress, Best Director, and Best Picture. They just need to streamline those 2 hours in the middle to maybe an hour and the show would actually be watchable. Right now it's a bloated 3+ hour that goes on too long, and ends too late for East Coast Viewers, when they could finish by 11:00 Eastern Time.
One of the worst Oscars I can remember was a few years ago when the producers of Chicago ended up producing the Academy Awards and basically turned it into a 3 hour jerk-off fest of Chicago, a movie that hadn’t been relevant at the Oscars for over a decade. That kind of shit is what’s killing the show.

You're right. They should move the show to live-streaming on pornhub.

First off, fuck no. Second, someone would bring this clip up and they’d be searching for another host:

I don't hate him, but if someone said I either had to watch his show from beginning to end or have steel needles pushed through my eyes & ears, it would be a tough choice.

When will the Oscars learn to not have any host and just introduce the nominees in each category onstage and present the winner. It would move so much faster.
