At Emma Stone saying “I’m sorry” in the background after that Aloha joke.

I'd go with saying Disney over specifying Pixar. Pixar didn't even get a nomination for Finding Dory (Zootopia won), Monsters University (Frozen won) or Good Dinosaur (tho Inside Out won that year).

Something along the lines of “Crazy Rich Asians had the biggest Asian cast in a studio movie since Ghost in a Shell and Aloha.” The crowd reacts and you can hear (presumably) Emma scream “I’m sorry.” But they didn’t cut to show it.

Jeff Bridges thanked his stand-in! That’s why the Dude is a legend!

Bridges has such a great body of work. My favorite is "The Last Picture Show". Glad he mentioned it during his speech.

Wow, didn't expect Bohemian Rhapsody to win, as well as Rami. I really liked the movie but didn't think it had a chance.

Bohemian Rhapsody for Best Drama, really? I didn’t expect that at all.

Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Yeah, I don't have a clue who will win with the academy other than maybe Rami Malek.

Kind of kills the seriousness of the Golden Globes with that call.

Re: The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

To be fair, If Beale Street Could Talk was really the only borderline great movie in that group of nominees and it wasn't getting much love. But I don't think most people take the Globes super seriously.

He really does. Starman is a favorite of mine, as is The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Re: The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

I figured the Globes wouldn’t actually give the win to Black Panther. Nominating it was probably just for show and to lure in some people who don’t normally watch, but I doubt they ever actually took it seriously.

I don't think any one did. It's a decent movie. No way is it Best Picture in any category.

Re: The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- Movie Edition

Man. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg were brutal. I don't know why I keep watching these things.

The lone highlight for me was Jeff Bridges. Especially when he brought up Michael Cimino. Sam Elliott narrating was cool too.

Never thought I'd see one of the Farrelly brothers win a Golden Globe.

Not much was nominated that I especially cared about. I hope the Oscars can land a good host or i'll likely skip it. Awards shows in general are kind of past their expiration date.

The nominations were chosen before The Mule was released (and it didn't get previewed to critics in advance the way many other movies are).

I agree that A Star is Born isn't a musical, but I don't think ANY film where the characters don't break out into song or dance (off stage, of course) qualifies as a musical. Like minds differ.

I think Vice falls under comedy because it's satire. Satire can be hard to categorize, as it can jump back and forth between drama and comedy.
