Stars 80s to Present - aside from Tom Cruise, who else is there ?
After just rewatching Mission Impossible Rogue Nation in preparation to watch Fallout, really dawned on me that no star from the 80s is still going as strong as Tom Cruise
Say what you like about Cruise, hes had a few misses, his longevity, when he could have well been "flavour of the month is impressive
Over the last 4 decades, i cannot think of another movie star who has been the star of at least 5 decent performing theatrical released movies per decade as Cruise

The secret to Cruise's continued box office is that he's a big time producer like Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay and Spielberg. His production company produces box office hits that he casts himself in.

Nah. For one, she was a 90s star, not 80s (her stardom didn't really occur until Pretty Woman), and while she continues to work, she is not near the box office draw that she was two decades ago. I'm hard pressed to think of a recent hit movie she was in aside from Wonder, in which she was essentially a supporting character.
Tom Hanks is a good answer. Streep? Depends on whether you're talking about steady quality work or box office hits.

That's a decent haul right there. And take her out of a lot of those movies and they don't make nearly as much without her. She's a star AND a box-office draw.

Arnold does not have it anymore ever since he became governor of CA in 2003 he has not done anything substantial in movies for a long time.
Nobody cares about Julia Roberts. What was her last hit?
Or just continue to make MI movies or he would not have a successful career without those movies.
De Niro has done drama, action, and comedy and that versatility pays off.

Denzel was a working actor for much of the 80s and won his first Oscar in 1989 so for him I guess it would depend on whether you think he became a star in the 80s.
Bruce Willis has gotten lazy (in terms of seeking quality) in the last ten years, but he's still a name, and he will have a big movie coming out in January.
Michael Keaton had some time in the wilderness so to speak in the early 00s, but he's back as a name actor these days.
I think Keanu Reeves has had enough in each decade to qualify.

Jeff Bridges may not make as much money as Tom Cruise, but he’s had a hell of a consistent career that has spanned over half a century.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but from the 80's until present day I think Harrison Ford has probably out grossed Tom Cruise. Perhaps even in the last 10 years too.

Mrs Danger suggested Jeff Goldblum. I argued that he's more of a character actor than a star, but she thinks he's a marquee name. I'm not convinced.

Goldblum's first movie was Death Wish in the 70s, He did make the The Fly. I'll say John Travolta.
