This reboot is available on VOD today. Vudu has it for a $6 rental or $10 purchase.

I think I'll wait until it hits Red Box for the $1.80 DVD rental. This is not something I want to own even for $10. I doubt I would ever re-watch this again after seeing it once.

Edit: I see Red Box actually has it today. I may go pick it up later.

I thought this was decent. It is not just a remake of the original nor does it feel like any of the other films. It tries to do something new, which I appreciated, especially since it was the original writer. I would imagine a chunk of people who were fans of the original series may not care too much for it.

Just finished it and I actually found it quite entertaining. It has the Wrong Turn name, but it tries to do something completely different and not repeat the same formula as the previous movies. This was definitely better than the last 2 DTV sequels.

Charlotte Vega was pretty awesome. I also liked Modine as her Dad and Sage as the villain.

The ending:

Spoiler:

I did not expect her to go ballistic in the camper and kill everyone, who was trying to take her back to the woods. I kind of like that it was filmed as the credits were rolling. I thought it was going to be a dark unhappy ending.

I liked it enough to purchase a $10 digital copy to support em, judging by the pissed off imdb "This isn't Wrong Turn!" reviews I figured it might need it

Yeah I saw the IMDB comments. Amusing how so many were angry at this movie and didn’t get what it was trying to do. I try to avoid it for the most part as it’s just a cesspool of trolls.

It was okay. Glad it wasn't just a rehash of the original (which I have a little fondness for, as many issues that one had). This one seemed to have elements of The Witch to me and at least found it mildly entertaining and I liked Charlotte Vega in the lead. However, found the six main characters to be just dumb asses, but maybe that's the most realistic element, I can see 20-somethings going off-trail like that. Anyway, doubtful I'll ever watch (anytime soon) but probably worth a rental. 3.0/5

I found it mundane and silly, but not terrible. An ancient multiracial Norse tribe living in the hills of West Virginia? Riiiight. Yikes, Modine looks 80.

4/10

Re: Wrong Turn reboot (2021)

I loved the first 3 films in this series and put this above 4-6.

Though I felt it was a little too long for a film of this nature, as was already mentioned, I appreciated that the film was trying to be something completely different, rather than resting on what had come before it.

Lots of interesting visuals in this one and Charlotte Vega was great!

I felt the same. Pretty awesome scene!

I watched this for the horror challenge, and while I’ve seen the previous six, I liked it even though it was a significant change from the others. I can live without hillbilly cannibals.

It definitely felt long as it progressed through the various stages, but it was interesting enough at the end that I wasn’t checking my watch. Maybe some early trimming would’ve helped. I agree with the previous comments about the ending.
Spoiler:
