Weren't those just "extras" for all the ones outside on her shooting range?

That's what I assumed as well but why have them in the house? It's not like she was lacking for room outside. Just one of those things added in for the one scene which wasn't thought through fully.

This is beyond a nitpick but it's something I thought of while watching. What exactly did Laurie do for work all her life to be able to build that house, complete with gas trap hidden basement and flood lighting? I feel like having all those mental issues would curb her ability to hold a career.

Well her former husband was a complete mystery as well, right? I don't think I missed any talk about who he was. Stayed around long enough to have a child then bounced? Everything they said made it seem like she raised her daughter completely solo up until she was removed.
I feel like they/JLC did a better job conveying an older Laurie in H20. And that's when the character was supposed to be Michael's true sister. The character we got here is "the story ignores all sequels but we want you to remember them to explain how crazy Laurie is in this one."

Also, not sure if anyone else was distracted that the husband was played by this guy:

Also, wouldn't being a survivor of a massacre like that make it a bit difficult for her to buy a complete arsenal of weapons (not to mention expensive AF)?

They showed her make a couple grand by letting the podcasters interview her near the beginning of the movie. It's not crazy to think there were similar opportunities over the past forty years.

This was on HBO last week (Sat May 25) so I watched it today and I really enjoyed it. I am not a Halloween nut (or big horror fan in general) but I have seen I believe the first 5 original Halloweens so I can appreciate the series.
