Bullitt or something new?

I need to kill 5 hours in DC while my wife and sister in law see Phil Collins in concert.

Local Cineplex has the standard new fare but it's also holding a 50th anniversary screening of Bullitt, which I've never seen. Is it worth paying to see it on a big screen, when I can easily watch it at home at any time, or should I stick with something else new playing locally? I know it's famous for it's car chase sequence but I really know little else about the movie.

Other options include A Star is Born, A Simple Favor, Farenheit 11/9 and The Sisters Brothers.

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you haven't seen it, it's new to you.

Check out Bullitt on the big screen. It'll be worth it.

That's what I opted for. Thanks for the input.

Looks like I'll be the only person in the theatre for the movie so basically a really large home theatre. Lol

Wise choice. It's not a perfect movie, but its pleasures outweigh its faults.

Re: Bullitt or something new?

Long story short...my wife and sister-in-law got ripped before the concert and somehow lost the concert tickets, so I had to leave the movie, round them up, and take them both to the box office to get them into the show.

So I only saw the first 30 minutes, but I think that covered all the best stuff, right?

Next time, I turn off the damn phone instead of leaving it on vibrate.

Re: Bullitt or something new?

Edit: looks like you had to leave, the first 30 minutes did not cover the best stuff, but my advice would have been:

Sit in the front row and see Bullit. The car chase will feel like a fucking roller coaster and you won’t regret it.

Also, the shot of McQueen crossing the street and checking out the random woman’s ass is hilarious with a packed theater.
