Fred Willard dies at 86
Sad. Loved him in everything he did. I thought he was younger. RIP.

Oh man, that sucks. I didn't know he was that old either. Weird, literally two days ago I was watching him in an episode of Community. RIP.

Kind of sad that his character on Modern Family also died as well.

Well, damn. 86 is a good long life, though. He was funny in everything he did.

I got the chance to meet and hang out with him a bit a few years back. He was as nice as could be and an absolute delight. So sad 😢

He looked like absolute shit in the last season of Modern Family. Not surprised at all. He was great, though.

His Best In Show color commentator is in my opinion, one of the 5-10 funniest performances in the history of film.

I don't think there was a better character actor working these days. He stole pretty much every scene he appeared in. Just a day or two ago I marvelled at him as a clueless history teacher when I was rewatching the great late early 2000s series "Undeclared." Definitely busting out "Best of Show" tonight. RIP.

Fred Willard stole the show every single time he appeared in something. I'm glad he got to live a long and fulfilling life with a great career.

I got to meet him way back in my twenties at a party and he went out of his way to make us feel like he really cared about all us young whippersnappers while we were all together.
The three things I was sure that Fred Willard would be like in-person all turned out to be true: he was very funny, he was very tall, he was very kind.

How many died? Willard, thought Baker Hall was dead but ain’t. Who else died? All guests mostly young. Norton, Cannivale, Banks, Marsden, Pallmenteri (not young), Shelley Long still kicking. Lane. Bratt, Beatriz, dude from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and It’s Always Sunny...who else was old that died?

Off the top of my head, here are a few others: Elizabeth Peņa, John Heard, Jon Polito, David Brenner, Kobe Bryant.

He was probably the most well known character actor on television. If people didn't know the actor by name, most would still recognize his face as he's been in so much over the years. RIP.

Lest we forget, the first time that Pixar decided to put a live action actor in one of their movies they picked Fred Willard.
