Bourne, Bond or Hunt...which franchise is your favorite?
so after just seeing M:I 6 and having a ton of fun, i couldn't help think about other franchises similar in nature. certainly Bond and M:I, Bourne little different, but all have to do with people with special abilities, spies and gadgets, at least, in two of them. of course, they all had a foible or two, but for the most part all good and all enjoyable as spy/thriller action movies.
so which is your favorite?
i probably get the most enjoyment out of Bond. especially Craig's Bond, but always been a fan because of my grandpa. have to revisit the older ones, Moore, but distinctly remember Connery's Bond and liked Brosnan too. this one probably has most replay all the way around, again, especially the Craig Bond, but just mo...

My vote goes to Ethan Hunt. These Mission:Impossible movies have been hitting on all cylinders for the last 4 films (I haven’t seen Fallout yet but reviews seem to indicate it’s good). And although very different from what the series has become, the first one is still quite enjoyable. M:I 2 is the only dud in the series.
I’m a huge fan of Damon’s Bourne films but they do have a tendency to become a bit repetitive from one film to the next
I enjoy the Daniel Craig Bond films but I’ve never been a huge fan of Bond. Frankly, they’ve always kind of bored me.

In terms of overall enjoyment of the movies, Hunt series.
In terms of character, Bourne > Hunt >other James Bond's >camel poop>what TLJ haters think Rian Johnson did to Luke Skywalker>>>>>>>>>>Craig Bond

I voted Mission Impossible because they have gotten better whereas the Bourne films kind of blew up with the last crapfest. The earlier ones were cool with the whole amnesia and rogue government agency subplots. MI started out kind of slow but have really found a groove.
Bond is Bond. Kind of cool but in spite of how cool Connery was, they are so dated now. Craig's Bond is more action packed but more as an attempt to catch up to the other franchises.

Mood of what kind of spy movie I want to see at any particular time. Bond has 50+ years of history to it. It ranges from cheesy to fun to great action, many times in one movie. Both Bourne and MI dispensed with any silliness and went right for the jugular on the action. IMO they both succeeded. While Bourne and MI are more similar, each has its own thing going for it. So I don’t really rank one above another with these 3, all of them are great in their own ways, and in other ways lacking on something that another franchise got right.

The Bond franchise has the benefit of many more years and films worth of content. As such, the overall high points of the Bond franchise are higher than those of the other two, if only because there have been so many more opportunities for them.
Mission Impossible, in my opinion, is a pretty uneven series but has the most spectacular action sequences of the three, thanks largely to Tom Cruise being slightly off his rocker when it comes to stunts.
The Bourne franchise is the most consistently good, if a little samey/repetitive throughout. Damon has better acting chops than Cruise, but lacks the electric screen presence of Connery's Bond.
If I was force to rank them I guess it would be:
1. Bond
2. Bourne
3. MI

I feel like the Bourne movie has the best story (at least the first 3) and the Mission Impossible movies have had the best action. Bond probably has the coolest character.

Bond is probably the coolest character but honestly I feel like the movies are really hit or miss. Of the twenty-four that are out there’s probably only like five or six that I want to rewatch consistently.
The Bourne franchise I’ve never gotten that into. I’m just not really a huge Matt Damon fan. They aren’t bad movies but again not ones I feel the need to revisit.
I feel like the Mission: Impossible films have gotten better as the series has progressed. All of them since Ghost Protocol are awesome. The first and third are really good too though.

Hard for me to vote.
MI has far surpassed the Bond films in the years both have been around together. The Bourne series is okay but really, you can see the first one and pass on the others. I recently rewatched both the Bourne and MI series and Bourne hasn't aged well with me. He becomes so indestructible with each and every film that it just becomes a joke. I know the Bond series well because I have seen each movie dozens of times since I was a kid.
The MI films are what the Bond films used to be...fun, adventurous, fantastic/realistic stunts, interesting plots and subplots, and with a dashing/charming protagonist. Bond has shit the bed with all of the above since the Daniel Craig films started.
So, pre-2000: Bond series. 2000-after: MI series. Bourne doesn't even register except for ruining the James Bond series due to the producers having a hard-on for Bourne.

All 3 are pretty good. But no film in any of the 3 franchises have come close to being great.
*I refer to Craigs Bond only as I've never seen anyone else play the character outside of one of the Brosnan ones when I was a kid.

I voted "other". I'll take it to mean an international government/terrorist crime franchise. So my other vote will be for Sicario 1&2.

I personally feel that, given enough time between viewings, the Mission Impossible series is the most rewatchable. Bond is fun but dated, and the Bourne movies, well, have become carbon copies of themselves.
