He technically doesn't own any of the characters and isn't owed anything for the movies (other than pay for his cameo appearances).

No one has mentioned the cure for blindness and the cocaine hidden in Blind Al's apartment. I thought that was a great call back to DP1.
Sun going down nailed it for me because I thought it was overused and stupid for Thor to do.

I still chuckle like a moron when Deadpool arrives in his belly shirt (over his costume) and they call him "trainee." That's some funny shit.

Watched it last night and that line got one of the biggest laughs outta me! And I wondered how many people would get it. Overall, a damn funny follow-up!

Outside of the additional suicide attempts at the beginning I was hard pressed to pick out anything different. That's how well the added bits flow. Funny enough, the death scene didn't feel as long as it was in the theater.
I watched Deadpool as a refresher on Monday, and Deadpool 2 for the second time on last night. I think overall #2 is funnier and has stronger jokes, better action/set pieces and just a solid groove without being saddled with an origin story. However on the whole, I think I might still have to give the edge to the first flick as being better for a single reason. Vanessa. Wade and Vanessa's relationship is the strongest thing in both films and to kill her off so easily is just a disservice to their chemistry and relationship.

Finally got around to seeing this, and it was meh. The first was a novelty and captured lightning in a bottle. This one tries too hard to recapture the lightning. Ryan Reynolds is best taken in small doses.

I caught this last night and loved the hell out of it. I thought the first one had its moments but overall the humor felt a bit forced and some if the jokes felt somewhat mean spirited. Deadpool 2 has me laughing from beginning to end. Some of the self-referential humor was used one or two times too many but overall I thought the jokes in part 2 felt a lot more natural (I’ve only seen the extended cut so I don’t know what was added).
The X-Force skydiving scene may be the funniest thing I’ve seem in a movie in YEARS. The whole sequence was comedy gold from beginning to end and hit all the right notes. And
may be the best cameo I’ve ever seen. Though I was laughing so hard at that point that I almost missed it.
Josh Brolin was a badass in this, as was the girl that played Domino. I’m hoping for a Deadpool 3 just so I can see the three of them back together!
Overall I’d say:
Deadpool
Deadpool 2

I actually preferred this over the first movie and, while I have to see it again in a few months, might have better replay value.

I thought the first was sort of a letdown (I need to watch it again though), but picked this up anyway and really enjoyed it. Like other first-timers, I also watched the extended cut, so not sure if that changes anything.
Someone above said there's going to be an additional extended cut. Is that accurate? Seems...pointless.

I liked this better than the first as well. It wasn't as "surprising" I guess? but it felt like a more complete movie.

The BluRay is absolutely loaded as well. Brings back memories of the good ole days of "special editions."

The first movie was great, it had some silly comedy bits, but it still was an action movie. The car shootout scene was awesome! The second one was mostly silly.
