"Won't You Be My Neighbor?" -- Mr. Rogers Documentary
I teared up watching this.
My father was a puppeteer when I was growing up and we always had a special love for Mr. Rogers in our house. He was truly a wonderful human being and genuinely seemed to want to make the world a better place.
I look at the state of how we treat and talk to each other these days, how we rarely seem to care about other people and if they are suffering and just miss him so, so much.

The Mr. Rogers movie coming out, the new dvd set, and now this documentary. Yes, the world needs someone like him in the world today. I saw this trailer on my facebook page, and didn't realize it was an actual movie being put out by Focus Pictures not just PBS. I might have to see it if it plays in town.

PBS aired a 90 minute documentary a few weeks ago on the 50th Anniversary of the show. Michael Keaton hosted as he used to work behind the scenes on the show. It’s a worthy watch if you can track it down.
It’s too bad that Fred got sick in his later years. He would have been 90 this year.

I saw the trailer for this last night and got confused because I thought there was a post here about a biopic of the same name. Guess that one is You Are My Friend. I’ll see this too though.

I'm also confused, Mike86. I watched yet another documentary about Mr. Rogers a couple of years ago. I thought it was called "Won't You Be My Neighbor?", but I guess it was "Fred Rogers: America's Favorite Neighbor" (2004).
He died far too young. Looking at him, one can imagine him living well into his 90s.

I admire him for being a nice guy but I bet there must be some freaky stuff he kept hidden since nobody is ever that clean and righteous.

As sad as it was when Fred Rogers died, I'm honestly relieved that he's not alive in 2018 to see where we are as a people.

I remember as a kid there would be a bunch of mecha animes that would start at 3:00, on PBS suprisingly, that would involve characters fighting and shooting at each other. Those ones, in addition to GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, Voltron, were my go-to for TV entertainment.
Well, I always got home from school around 2:30 so Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was on before the cartoons. I had nothing else to do so I watched it. I always thought it was a re-run because of how old fashioned it looked.

I adored and admired Mr. Rogers so much much. He was almost too good of a person imo. He truly cared deeply, and understood children like no other person ever did. I would be saddened if I anything bad about him ever came out, but I have a feeling nothing ever will. One of the most important people to ever appear on tv, and that’s just tipping the iceburg. I has such an amazing person and I loved watching him every day as a child.

The big brother of a high school friend was a pianist. He worked for Fred Rogers in a stage show. According to his story, Fred Rogers didn't allow the slightest deviation from what he wanted, and he would absolutely tell you off -- in the gentle sing-song Mr. Rogers voice. He thought it was disturbing.

I hope the producers do a sequel on Mister Robinson's Neighborhood:
