Thanks Goldberg - but I still don't know what his deal is. He's a superhero cuz he can't leave the planet? Neither can I. I mean, does he shoot laser beams out his eyes or ice out of his hands or is he just made of silver and is really strong? Does he turn things into metal? I don't get it. He's a surfer, so he like either flies around on a surfboard thing or he is actually a surfer like he lives in california or something. Does he have a regular joe identity?

Man, did y'all see who they put in X2 as SS? Me neither, but the kid doesn't fit the roll.
Whoever might play SS, he better not mess it up, 'cause SS is God.

Marvel and Fox executives told Sci Fi Wire that a planned "Silver Surfer" movie is in serious development as a project to be started after "Fantastic Four" and the next "X-Men".
Marvel film chief Avi Arad said "We're just starting, and we are very excited. We are finishing [Fantastic Four], and the next thing we'll go on our way to Silver Surfer." Silver Surfer is based on the character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966: a metallic being who travels through space on a sleek board.
Fox Filmed Entertainment Co-Chairman Tom Rothman added "I think the tricky thing on Silver Surfer, which hasn't been resolved yet, is the nature of the Surfer and to what extent digital work is used and to what extent it isn't and that's the fundamental difficult decision....but it's a project that we're very very high on."

Hmm, as with any comic movie, this could be good or it could be unbelievably bad. To be honest they've already covered the superheores I want to see, so I'm not real hyped about most of the new stuff. I'll go see it though.

Silver Surfer Movie (Fox)
Per The Hollywood Reporter:
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...-plans-1088623
Fox has several other "secret" projects in development, including a Silver Surfer stand-alone feature that is being written by comics creator Brian K. Vaughn. "We are going 100 miles per hour," says one executive involved.

Apparently Comcast is doing more to potentially interrupt the sale by trying to buy European TV service Sky, which Disney wanted.
https://www.recode.net/2018/2/27/170...rupert-murdoch
Comcast, which owns NBCUniversal*, announced today it made a surprise $31 billion bid for European pay TV company Sky.
What’s more interesting is how that could end up spoiling Disney’s $52 billion deal to buy a significant chunk of Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox — which ultimately includes his company’s offer to buy out the rest of Sky.
Led by CEO Brian Roberts, Comcast’s intention to buy Sky is 16 percent higher than Murdoch’s deal to buy out Sky, an offer that’s still undergoing regulatory review.
That matters to Disney, since its interest in Fox’s business is partly about owning Fox’s international assets. Fox already owns 39 percent of Sky, as well as a big chunk of Star, a pay TV service in India.

Yea, it is all very strange. I can understand the stuff that is already in production going forward, but to continuously add new things to the slate when a sale is looming is odd.

Cool character and I’d be interested to see him done properly. I’d rather have Fox hold the breaks and not move on more Marvel stuff before figuring out the Disney acquisition situation and stuff though.

I get that you want to continue business as normal, but to try and churn out all these properties quickly, seems like they are falling into same trap as DC. I am all for good superhero movies. But do it right, especially for a property like SS, who can be integrated into other properties.
