Likewise, and Trevorrow adds nothing to this franchise. Another movie on an island with the same damn storyline.

Right. I’m somewhat interested in where this new movie goes simply based on the last 30 seconds or so of Fallen Kingdom but I’m keeping my expectations firmly in check.

Also, I’m not saying that’s the plan for this new movie but they’ve tricked us with this “original cast is returning” nonsense THREE times already with nothing more than cameos for each. I’m sure as shit not buying into the original cast talk until I see the movie.

I’d rather have that honestly as opposed to more dinosaurs in basements.

It was like watching some surreal version of Taken. I kept expecting Liam Neeson to pop out of the mahogany woodwork to kill everyone.

Make sure you watch the first 8, or you’ll be asking nothing but questions on this one.

Is the Predator cloaked dinosaur coming back or did they drop that nonsense altogether?

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

I just heard, albeit on the radio, that this movie will be released on Amazon Prime at the same time as in theaters next June. Not sure if that’s true, but I’d love that if it’s true.

Not true. Amazon and Universal made a licensing deal for Universal films to go to Amazon 10 months after they are available on Peacock.

OK, I don't have a ton of hope for this movie in general, but that was pretty cool. I dug the feathered therapods.

Worse, it turned into the last 15 minutes of The Lost World.

While the last few posts on this thread did indeed make me chuckle, I am still psyched and very much looking forward to seeing this in theaters. The special effects for the dinosaurs in the 65 million years back prologue are top-notch.

That. So much unexplained stupidity once the people were introduced. I'm cringing, but still looking forward to this.

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

Jurassic World Dominion, the sixth entry in the Jurassic Park franchise, takes place four years after 2018's Fallen Kingdom — enough time for dinosaurs to have found a way to spread around the globe.

"They have been multiplying and living amongst us and clashing with us," says filmmaker and co-writer Colin Trevorrow, who directed 2015's Jurassic World. The other Jurassic Park movies "pretty much have the same story," he says. "But Dominion is set all over the world, through many different environments: wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It's exciting to see these creatures navigate environments that they weren't built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they're here!"

At the start of the film (out June 10), Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing and Chris Pratt's Owen Grady are still attempting to save the big beasts, with the latter rounding up parasaurs in the Sierra Nevadas.

"He's not too far from where the dinosaurs got out in the last film," says Trevorrow. "The parasaurs are in danger of being poached. There's a lot of shady types out there who want to get their hands on dinosaurs, so he's working to protect them."

Trevorrow is cagier about where we find Claire. "I don't want to say just yet," he explains. "But she's at a point where she's questioning her methods, and whether she can stay safe and fulfill the responsibility that she has to the other people in her life that care about her."

Arguably even bigger news than widespread dinosaur dissemination? The return of Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, reunited on screen for the first time since Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Crichton's novel Jurassic Park debuted way back in 1993. And these won't be cameo appearances like the one Goldblum made in Fallen Kingdom.

"They have equal screen time to Chris and Bryce," Trevorrow reveals of the scientist trio. "They're major characters from start to finish."

The director describes Dominion as more of a "science thriller" than the horror-flavored, J.A. Bayona-directed Fallen Kingdom, and strongly hints that the movie's big bad will be Campbell Scott's Lewis Dodgson.

"He is the main villain throughout both of [Crichton's] novels, and I think what Campbell's done with the character is just amazing," he says. "I can't wait for people to see it."

Jurassic World Dominion is released in theaters June 10.

If people would have worn their masks and gotten vaccinated, dinosaurs never would have spread all across the globe.

Wait ... did I mix something up there?

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

I’m glad they’re at least trying to go in a new direction. “Dinosaurs running amok on a tropical island” has been pretty played out at this point.

Still, a Jurassic Park/World movie taking place in the snow will take some getting used to.

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

This summer, experience the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era as two generations unite for the first time. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by Oscar®-winner Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill in Jurassic World Dominion, a bold, timely and breathtaking new adventure that spans the globe.

From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

Jurassic World Dominion, from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, propels the more than $5 billion franchise into daring, uncharted territory, featuring never-seen dinosaurs, breakneck action and astonishing new visual effects.

The film features new cast members DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It), Emmy nominee Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Scott Haze (Minari) and Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man 2). The film’s returning cast includes BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu, Justice Smith as Franklin Webb, Daniella Pineda as Dr. Zia Rodriguez and Omar Sy as Barry Sembenè.

Jurassic World Dominion is directed by Colin Trevorrow, who steered 2015’s Jurassic World to a record-shattering $1.7 billion global box office. The screenplay is by Emily Carmichael (Battle at Big Rock) & Colin Trevorrow from a story by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) & Trevorrow, based on characters created by Michael Crichton. Jurassic World Dominion is produced by acclaimed franchise producers Frank Marshall p.g.a. and Patrick Crowley p.g.a. and is executive produced by legendary, Oscar®-winning franchise creator Steven Spielberg, Alexandra Derbyshire and Colin Trevorrow.

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment present, in association with Perfect World Pictures, a Colin Trevorrow film. jurassicworld.com

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

I’ll keep my expectations in check but that actually looks pretty good! Seeing dinosaurs running through the streets of Europe looks cool.

I’m not sure why Dr. Grant would still be digging up dinosaur bones when there are dinos spread all over the world but it’ll be nice to see Neill, Dern, and Goldblum back together (assuming they’re not just glorified cameos).

I started laughing hard at that. It looked like a Mission: Impossible movie... with dinosaurs!

Re: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022, D: Trevorrow)

Stick this franchise in the franchises getting tiresome thread.

Will this deliver? We’ve been fooled before. Like 5 times before. I swear that motorcycle through the streets thing is the perfect intersect to bring in the Fast & Furry franchise. Dom don’t take no crap from dinos.
