Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of Dug, along with sidekick Hognob as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy Lord Nooth and his Bronze Age City to save their home.

I like Wallace and Gromit but the trailer for this one just doesn’t grab me. I’ll probably rent it if the reviews continue to stay positive.

Okay. I saw this on Sunday. Empty theater. I can see why Lionsgate got it instead of Dreamworks. It's not so much a caveman vs Bronze Age movie as it is a soccer sports satire. Quick Harryhausen tribute at the beginning. Loaded with Brit humor that frankly will go over U.S. kids heads. It had a few laughs, and I did enjoy the old fashion craftsmanship of Aardman's claymation technique and design, but overall, I doubt I will even add it to my animation collection.

On the other hand, there was a quick trailer for a new Shaun the Sheep movie called Farmageddon, that may or may not have something to do with alien abduction. You'd think that would be more of a Wallace and Gromit thing.

Disappointing that it bombed. I wouldn't have minded watching it. I know and appreciate how hard it is to make a stop-motion feature.

Here's a good 30-minute interview with Nick Park on the making of the film :

As a Wallace and Gromit/Aardman fan going back to the VHS days, I thought this was really disappointing. The animation was fun, but the story didn't grab me whatsoever. Glad I only rented it.

Didn't like it and neither did my daughter. She became restless and uninterested before half-way and has never asked to re-watch it.
