THE HURRICANE HEIST (2018) D: Rob Cohen; Toby Kebbell, Maggie Grace

Pretty much what you'd expect from this director:

29 credited producers? Is that normal?

That looks absolutely terrible and Rob Cohen couldn’t direct traffic but...who am I kidding? I’ll watch it.

I saw this trailer today and was reminded of Hard Rain too.

This looks like utter and complete shit though. I don’t know why Toby Kebbell can’t catch a break. He’s better than the shit movies he’s been in lately.

Also, them trying to cash in using The Fast and the Furious font is pathetic.

Re: THE HURRICANE HEIST (2018) D: Rob Cohen; Toby Kebbell, Maggie Grace

From the Hollywood Report review:

""It’s Sharknado, but instead of sharks there’s $600 million in cash and a bunch of actors speaking with questionable Southern accents!"

The latter probably comes closest to describing action veteran Rob Cohen’s dumb and mildly fun mashup, which has the xXx and The Fast and Furious director doing what he does best: making people, cars and various inanimate objects come crashing together at extremely high velocities."

That's all I ask out of a movie of this caliber. Butt in seat. I did not even need to read the rest of the review.

Same. It reminds me of the Rick and Morty improvised movie Two Brothers, but without the giants cats and mexican aliens.

This is the type of movie I sometimes wish I had Moviepass for. A movie that looks so dumb, I would never spend money on seeing at the theaters. Yet, could be a lot of fun seeing with the right audience.

I don't care what kind of reviews this thing gets, I'll see it once it hits blu ray.

Oh, I'll rent this... I'll regret it, but I'll still watch it and wish I hadn't.

Yea I am with you on that. Looks like dumb fun and will be a great workout for the home theater.

This kind of movie is *exactly* why Movie Pass exists. I just got back and it was really bad. And I didn't even get a good audience, as there were only about 7 other people in the theater. A while into it a bunch of theater-hopping kids kept coming in and out, in and out. They talked all the way through it, cell phone lights a-poppin'. I can't say they detracted from my enjoyment of the flick.

I should've used today's MP allotment for Red Sparrow or something. Oh, well. Tomorrow is a new day.

Yeah but only in like the last week. This seemed to come out of nowhere. It's like they decided to blow their entire marketing budget in a week just to get people to see it before they come to their senses. lol

That's saying something if teenagers on cellphones don't bother you in the movie. lol

I could've gotten the manager, but then I would've had to admit that I was watching The Hurricane Heist.

Linus goes to the lobby and finds the manager.

"Excuse me, but I am watching Hurricane Heist and there are a bunch of kids in there talking and using their cell phones."

Manager starts laughing "I'm sorry. what did you say?"

"I'm watching Hurricane Heist and . . . '

Manager cuts Linus off with louder laughing.

Manager calls to employee working at concession stand.

"Betty, come here, you have to hear this customer complaint."

Linus just stands there. Manger giggles while he speaks.

"He says he's watching Hurricane Heist . . ."

Betty starts laughing. Now the manager has trouble getting the words out.

". . . and . . . there are kids . . . on their cell . . ."

Manager and Betty break out in uncontrollable laughter.

Betty takes out her phone and points it at Linus.

"Could you tell me what movie you were watching. I gotta put this on YouTube."

Mendelson liked it. Said it was good B-movie fun. It also cost 35 million to make. Looks like it was an unofficial remake of Hard Rain?

It was pretty much Hard Rain on steroids. It wasn't good, some really cringe-worthy moments, but all in all a harmless disaster heist movie. Not sure why it even bothered with the theaters, should've been a DTV flick. 2.75/5

This needs to hit Cinemax/Showtime/Starz/HBO/Netflix/Hulu asap so I can enjoy this film. I am still giddy that I finally got to see Geostorm a few days back when I lucked out and saw that it was currently airing on Cinemax.

This ended up being exactly what I thought it would be. An entertaining way to kill 90 minutes with terrible acting and great special effects and instantly forgettable once you turn it off. Check it out.
