And I'll be the first to say it here : Get Out is a Comedy? I mean, maybe it's a satire, but I never thought of it as a comedy -- I thought they fixed this after The Martian won.

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
i'm pissed Wind River didn't get anything, especially for Renner and The Big Sick not getting at least screenplay.

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
Christopher Plummer has to be the first film actor to get cast for a part, shoot a movie and receive a major award nomination for that performance within a two months window.

As far as The Big Sick goes, chances are still good for an Oscar nomination in the Best Original Screenplay category (along with Jordan Peele for his laugh-riot Get Out). The Golden Globes nominate five movies, but the Oscars get ten nominees. |

I thought the only category that gets up to 10 nominees at the Oscars was Best Picture. Don't all the other categories (Best Original Screenplay, etc) still just have 5 nominees or has something changed? I admit I don't pay attention that closely.

+ 5 Best Adapted Screenplay nominees = __________________ 10 movies nominated for writing vs 5 Best Screenplay nominations in the Golden Globes |

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
Too bad about the Blade Runner 2049 snubs and for Dunkirk getting nominated. Also I want Kyle MacLachlan to win for actor for Twin Peaks and accept the award in character as Dougie.

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
I thought for sure Harry Dean Stanton would get a posthumous nomination for Lucky.

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
I could see BR2049 getting a score nod. I wouldn't mind either because it is the only tolerable thing Zimmer has been involved with.

Speaking of which, how the hell did Twin Peaks not get nominated for Best Limited Series? It was one of the best things on TV and miles better than Fargo S3. I've never even heard of The Sinner.

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Nominees Announced
Shut up Jada!
That movie was awful. Tiffany Haddish‘s breakout performance in Girls Trip was one of the more noticeable snubs of this year’s Golden Globes nominations — and her costar Jada Pinkett Smith has an issue with it. The actress claims that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which votes on the awards and organizes the ceremony, wouldn’t even screen the film for consideration. “I’m not upset about @TiffanyHaddish or @GirlsTripMovie not getting a nom… I’m discouraged about the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press/@goldenglobes wouldn’t even WATCH the movie,” she wrote on Tuesday. “Girls Trip was one of the most successful films this summer & Tiff was hands down the funniest person on screen in 2017 and we couldn’t get eyes on the film or a press conference. How could a nom happen & how much more critical acclaim must a movie have to simply get a screening?” https://s3.amazonaws.com/skinner-pro...png?1500564371 |
