How David Fincher Hijacks Your Eyes

Evan Puschak (aka The Nerdwriter) frequently points his usually keen perception at film. Today it was the David Fincher. While this is probably not news to a well-versed film student, I had certainly never noticed this before and I found this quite interesting.

Uwe Boll does the same thing, but no one makes a big deal out of him!

I made it one minute into that...I stopped when the guy talking stopped for a moment. I felt hijacked listening to him.

I liked it. Makes me want to watch Zodiac again. Love that movie.

Interesting observation and it makes sense. Never thought of it before, but surprised nobody else follows the same filming approach.

I remember not enjoying it as much when I saw it in the theatre because of people talking and other distractions. I'm glad I decided to give it another chance because IMO Zodiac is Fincher's masterpiece. The filmmaking is top notch in just about every aspect.
