Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion
Large corporations don't want negative publicity regardless of where the truth lies.
They cut their losses all the time rather than sticking with employees, products, etc.
A VERY SMALL number of women have a VERY SMALL amount of power over a VERY SMALL number of men.
Have women taken over the Producers Guild? Have they taken over the Directors Guild? Are women taking all the executive jobs at all the studios?
What is this power you speak of?
But as for he-said-she-said, in the #MeToo world, it's all "Women Never Lie" and "No Due Process Necessary" so who cares what he says because anyone who disagrees with her is either a misogynist or has internalized misogyny.

What if a woman gets upset about her edit or role in a movie? She could make up a story in a blog and now the director will be treated like a leper in the industry. That's power.

For the most part, we're talking about people who depend on being popular for their livelihoods, so a smear campaign of any kind that gets picked up in the media, and which they're not somehow protected from, can ruin their career. Heck, unsubstantiated rumors follow some celebrities for good. In this particular case, Dykstra claims that Hardwick also affected her career and had her effectively blacklisted, which if you remember from Weinstein, was also a common threat held by him.

Alrighty then...

This BACKLASH is a result of legit women victims being ignored, called liars, being blacklisted, etc for generations. It's a natural House Cleaning phenomenon. Unfortunately, things will go back to what it was pre-MeToo...then after a few years another MeToo House Cleaning will occur.
He’s kept quiet after making that statement to Deadline a few days ago. I wonder if he’s realizing that his career is screwed.
I've always been a fan of Hardwick. This does sound like another attempt to weaponize the #MeToo movement to get revenge at an ex, which is beyond sad. Hoping he can survive this and she gets what is coming to her.

It does sound like she's a spiteful ex and wants to fuck over his life, reputation and career.
I think it’s amazing that a guy is trying to derail a conversation into who broke up with who to distract you from the actual story of a powerful man blacklisting his ex girlfriend from their industry. That’s the pettiest thing I’ve ever seen.

Trying to remain friends or on the good side with your abuser after finally finding the strength to get out is textbook victim mentality. I’m shocked that after everything was released he chooses to make it about his ego. Don’t be distracted.

If you think Chloe’s article was about who broke up with who, you’re missing the point and falling for his ploy. It has only ever been about blacklisting and surviving abuse. Releasing some irrelevant texts says everything about him. #metoo is about abuse in the workplace. https://t.co/LcysjAFiAi

Don’t let him change the conversation.
