Re: The Soundtrack of My Sheep: Music in Film Game

13. R: Name a song from the movie Purple Rain that was not performed by Prince.

Let’s go crazy figuring out the 3 other bands that played at First Avenue and what songs they performed before we find out when doves cry.

Let’s start with the incorrect…

Spoiler:

Kal-El did not have an answer.

Kal-El +7

Light My Fire by ? The Doors? Jose Feliciano?

sleepyhead55 +7

Superfreak by Rick James

Fist of Doom +7

Happy Birthday - Even though Apollonia gives him a gift, she doesn't sing it...

Crocker Jarmen +7

Nasty Girl by Vanity 6

Drexl +7

While Vanity was originally in the role .. it went to another actress along with 2/3rds of Vanity 6.... which leads us into correct answers and one unique.

Spoiler:

Sex Shooter by Apollonia 6

tommyp007 +3
majorjoe23 +3
Decker +3

What about that unique?

Spoiler:

Modernaire by Dez Dickerson (one time guitarist for Prince)

(Purple Rain was my first VHS tape)

So that leaves just one more band...

It's The muthafuckin' Time...

Spoiler:

Jungle Love by The Time

AaronHernandez {sd} -5
wishbone +5
TheAllPurposeNothing +5
DaveNinja +5

My answer would've been the Apollonia song if I could've remembered its name.

I wanted to answer The Little Mermaid, but had a hunch that "Let it Go" would put Frozen in the sheep's minds. For once, I was right.

16. R: Name a song nominated for an Oscar from any James Bond film.

With all of the famous theme songs of the various James Bond films, you’d think that there would be more than just 6 that were at least nominated for an Oscar…

Let’s start… with incorrect answers.

Spoiler:

Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey 1964

Crocker Jarmen +7
Sleepyhead55 +7

GoldenEye by Tina Turner 1995

Drexl +7

Now, on to correct answers and matches and a unique….

Spoiler:

The Look of Love by Dusty Springfield – Casino Royale 1967

No one picked this one…. so that left 1 unique among 5 answers

Spoiler:

Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney and Wings 1973

AaronHernandez +2
DaveNinja +2

And then there was the two most recent films.... which both won the Oscar.

Spoiler:
Skyfall by Adele 2012

tommyp007 +3
Fist of Doom +3
Kal-El +3

Writing’s On The Wall by Sam Smith – Spectre 2015

A-aron +2
Decker +2

So it came down to the sheepiest and the unique..

Spoiler:

For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton 1981

Spoiler:

Streisand sang the title song in The Way We Were, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and The Main Event, but not on any of the movies devilshalo listed.

Also nobody listed Dolly Parton of 9 to 5.

Your answer was correct but Dreamgirls is really more of a Beyonce song and I would have answered that over Jennifer Hudson if I thought of that song and movie.

Yup. My first instinct with this question was to answer Whitney Houston/The Bodyguard, but then I thought, "I Will Always Love You" is the main song, not the "title" song. In the end, I answered Streisand/The Way We Were.

Which makes me curious: did most sheep answer with a singer AND a movie title, or just the singer? I assumed you needed to provide both, and that titles would be separated, not lumped together by singer. So for instance, I don't think those who answered "Madonna/Die Another Day" should be scored together with "Madonna/Who's that Girl." But maybe that's just me.

18. R: Name a song from the movie Saturday Night Fever that is performed by The Bee Gees.

Another iconic soundtrack, one that changed the Bee Gees sound into a more groove intensive R&B success. It also had a limited number of choices. 6 songs grace the album by the Gibbs.

There was one incorrect answer...

Spoiler:
While it is a song on from the film it is not performed by the Bee Gees.

Disco Inferno by The Trammps
