Not to mention she looks nothing like the younger actress. If Emma Stone was cast, they'd have to write dialogue where she describes to the other adult members of the club her complete facial reconstruction.

I agree with both Chastain and Adams as Bev, I hope we get one or the other. Stone is way too young. Maggie Gyllenhall could work too if the studio decides they don't want to pay for the bigger names, but she wouldn't be as good a fit.
While I do find him amusing, I do NOT want to see people like James Franco, Seth Rogen, or Ryan Reynlods anywhere near the sequel. They work well in comedy, but would be too distracting in something like this.

Did I hear somebody mention stunt casting? Three words: All female cast ...
Since we are casting every redhead in Hollywood for the Beverly role, don't forget Zendaya.
Somebody mentioned Mark Duplass (great choice) which made me think ... actually, the entire main cast of The League could fit the right look.

What's with all the Amy Adams love? She doesn't strike me as adult Beverly at all. Are those mentioning her familiar with the story?

Vulture has chimed in with their fan casting for the sequel. They picked two of the same actors I picked (Fred Savage and Ben Foster).
In related news according to that article, the young actress who plays Bev in It Chapter One will be play young Amy Adams' character in HBO's Sharp Objects, so I can see why so many are clamoring for Adams to return the favour. It would basically be between her and Jessica Chastain anyway.

It's funny, because of the two, I can see Adams pulling that off with her eyes closed but I just don't see Stone pulling that off (and she's way too young).

Adams is a far more logical choice, not only due to her looks but I could buy her being tough when required.

Well, the one who plays Beverly looks like Jenny Lewis when she was a kid, but I don't know if she wants to get back into acting.

She would never be considered for the role. Thick Italian accent and she's tatted up all over her body. Plus she's got a smoker's voice. I don't think she's ever played an American either.
Amy Adams or Jessica Chastain are the most logical and sensible choices to play 40-ish Bev.
