Which credit/selling point for a movie matters the least to you?

This is aside from Director or Stars, which are obviously the big selling points.

Which credit/selling point of these matters the least to you or isn't really a selling point?

"executive producers of..." and "the studio that brought you..." are tied, so I chose the former.

writer and to a lesser degree novel are the only 2 that aren't completely irrelevant.

Re: Which credit/selling point for a movie matters the least to you?

Pretty much most stuff. Any "From the Producers of...", "The Studio that brought you.....", actually everything on your poll and probably a lot more. Movies capture my interest first and foremost by the story being told. I love some directors, but i will not rush to see works that do not have compelling stories for me (the only exception to this for me was Kubrick). There are also very few actors/actresses that make me want to see a movie because they are in it. Some seem to guarantee more of a fun time to be had (Tom Cruise being a good example, he can be in not great movies but in most he still manages to elevate it above what it normally would be), but most do not provide any sense of anticipation for their next release.

Pretty much all of them.

I don't follow stars from movie to movie, maybe sometimes a director will catch my attention but if I don't have any interest in the movie, then I simply don't have any interest in it.

For the most part none of those matter to me.

Don't care about any of them except for writer. For me writer is higher than actor and is almost right up there with director.

Re: Which credit/selling point for a movie matters the least to you?

All of these could be weak. But studio is the only one that is completely meaningless.

A good script is a key component for a good movie. If I see a movie is written by someone like Charlie Kaufman, that would be enough to get on my radar.

Producer credits are often meaningless, but sometimes they matter. Like cases where the producer has artistic impact on the movie (e.g. many Spielberg movies).

"Makers" is such a generic word ... it could be anyone (director, writer, producer).

And certainly if I'm a fan of an author, that could be enough to attract me to a movie. Though there have been so many bad adaptations that I'd still be wary (case in point, The Dark Tower).

None are too important. Studio gets the vote as something that never matters to me.

Re: Which credit/selling point for a movie matters the least to you?

I would almost give some credit to "based on the best selling novel" but anymore Hollywood just pisses all over the source material. I'm going "all are lame".
