Me too--a very creative, great-looking movie that I enjoyed a lot.

Well damn. I guess that's one of mine too. Didn't realize it was so low.

I'll add Transformers movies, Armageddon, and Bad Boys II. Love Michael Bay. Not much he can make that I won't enjoy. Glad he's leaving Transformers and hopefully gets back to some escapism action movies.

I'll add Sucker Punch. Not great but I dig the visuals/action, and it has some nice eye candy.
I still think Sucker Punch would have worked better as a series of vignettes in a new version of MTV's old Liquid Television series. Only show the action scenes of course.

Since Dark Tower is getting panned, I may give it a shot. Could be this generation's Dune.

I'm pretty sure it was, I looked it up on Rotten Tomatoes the score is at 33%, but the audience score was 56%. 9 Fresh reviews, and 18 rotten. It was a favorite of mine from my summers renting VHS tapes all the time.

I always liked Teen Wolf with Michael J Fox as it was that 80's type of movie I would watch whenever it came on HBO. I remember it came out right after Back to the Future and disappeared from the theatres quickly.

I think it was pretty big (and cheap to make). I mean it spawned a cartoon series, some sequels, and then years later a tv show. But yeah I guess it was panned. Man I should look up all the movies I liked as a kid. I mean stuff like Short Circuit and Golden Child were perfect for me at that age.

*The League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Yep, I'm the one.
*Blind Fury. Awesome Hauer-fu throughout.
*Van Helsing. The Frankenstein character was shit but the rest was pure gold.
*Sgt Bilko. I had just left the military when this came out and to this day, it's the best example of what barracks life was like.

One of my favorite movies as a kid,

I remember critics were brutal in the reviews, and it stands at 7% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Martin Short and Charles Grodin make a great pair.

.

Love Rik Mayall (RIP). And Phoebe ain't too hard on the eyes, even if she's supposed to be kind of frumpy in this movie. Audience score 68% higher than Critics' score.

.

The movie that sunk Cyndi Lauper's movie career before it barely had a chance to begin. I actually found it to be a mildly amusing piece of fluff and think Lauper had a more likeable big screen presence than Madonna ever had. Goldblum is miscast as an affable romantic lead, but it's fun watching him try to keep up with Lauper's zaniness.

Re: Critically Panned Movies You Kinda Dug

1. Dumb and Dumber 2 - I must be the only person who thought this was a worthy sequel. haha

2. The Chase - I haven't seen it in awhile, but man this movie is flipping funny. Back when Charlie Sheen was really likeable.

3. Roadhouse - the ultimate lazy Saturday afternoon flick.

4. Nothing But Trouble - wow, this one was savaged by critics, but I found it worth a watch and a rental.

"The Avengers", -not the Marvel movie but the adaptation of the British series with Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. I'd always hoped we'd get the long version on home video. Apparently close to a half-hour was chopped from the movie before its release.

Paul Schrader's "Cat People", -I enjoyed it as an elevated horny monster movie while my girlfriend at the time laughed derisively at me.

The more I think about it, I don't think Teen Wolf was critically panned, but more forgotten because it came out the same summer as Back to the Future. I did not see it in it's theatrical run, but loved it when it played on HBO in the summer of 1986. It looks like it became more of a cult hit among teenagers like us at that team and that spawned the rest of the Teen Wolf sequels, etc.
