I haven't been paying much attention to this (mainly because Shazam bored the shit out of me), but I was surprised to see Dr. Fate and Hawkman in the trailer.

I basically thought Black Adam was going to be a BA vs US Military type of thing- misunderstood hero/villain. Still might be.

I don’t think it has the right tone at all. The thing with Black Adam is that he’s a dictator and a villain and a ruler, kind like Doctor Doom. He’s fair to his people but hates the outside world. The only reason he’s sided with the heroes is out of necessity and to protect his kingdom.
It feels that in the Rock’s film they are trying to make him a misunderstood person who’s suffered by being a slave and losing his child (neither of these things are from the comics).
The Rock looks the part but I fear he has too much control over the project that it is not executed well

Fate and Hawkman have ties to the early Kandaq/Egypt period that Black Adam originated from and Atom Smasher has ties to Black Adam as well, so at least whoever wrote this did their research.

I’m a huge JSA fan so I’ll see this, but the Rock doesn’t do much for me. His acting limits are pretty stark.

Cool Trailer.
Always been a HUGE Black Adam fan and was made an even bigger fan during the New 52 when they made him a Brutal Anti-Hero. None of this, we don't kill villains shit with Black Adam. Hell, even Hawkman, who is another one of my favorite Brutal Heroes is a Skull Cracker who doesn't play with Villains. So it's kinda funny having Hawkman say we don't kill...You sure about that Hawkman?
Anyway, I've i'm honest. I truly looking forward to Brosnan/ Dr Fate the most with BA and HM a close second. Dr Fate is awesome and even in the little we've seen it seems Bronsnan is going to give him a gravitas and maturity needed to portray the character

I hope we'll get to see some sort of Dr. Fate limited TV series for HBO Max. Love Brosnan.

Which would be amazing. But also considering he's kind of DC's parallel to Strange, fitting.
I have no idea how good this movie is going to be but if, of all things, Black Adam and the JSA become the cornerstone of a cinematic universe that Superman and the JLA couldn't hold down, that would be kind of awesome. I kind of doubt it but I'm all in for DC actually turning things around.

Dr. Fate is being positioned something like Dr. Strange is for Marvel.

Agreed in that both are ridiculously overpowered and said powers are always nebulously defined (the so-called "Omni-Power" from superhero RPGs), which makes them difficult to write and often better off as supporting characters than leads. But that's as far as the similarities go, other than the names of course.

DJ gave everyone who attended the Black Adam panel a free a ticket to see the movie in IMAX. 6000 plus. Hall H is extremely high demand. Many camped out overnight.

Everything I’ve seen still doesn’t get me all they hyped about this one. Of course I don’t know much at all about this character.
