Wall climbing guy in Suicide Squad. I thought for sure his ability to climb walls would be instrumental in their battle against an ancient sorceress. I mean he was so cool he didn't even need a flashback scene.

As a kid I certainly wasn't expecting what happened in the first 30 minutes of the animated (and best)Transformers the Movie.

I'm curious how people originally viewed what happened with Obi Won in Star Wars, a New Hope. But like the Vader/Luke reveal, it's so ingrained in pop culture that nobody is surprised by it now. As a kid seeing it for the first time it certainly surprised me, especially the way it happened.

Not a movie obviously but Not having read the source material, GoT threw me for a loop about a dozen times in the first few seasons before I realized outside of a couple of people everyone is expendable.

Bambi's Mom, of course

Patch Adams - Monica Potter's death

Scream - Drew Barrymore was the only big name in the movie, and she gets killed off in the first scene.

Children of Men - Juilianne (awesome camerawork/editing, though)

Assault on Precinct 13 - The little girl

Alien - John Hurt. Man did this shock me as a kid.
