What kind of critic?
A film critic.
This woman is a Richard Roper or Sam Rubin. She doesn’t know shit. She covers gallery openings and fashion shows.

In Roeper's defense, he's much better than when he first started with Ebert. It took him a few seasons to really get rid of that crap. As far as Sam Rubin goes, he's always been douche.

WOW! First time I've ever had a post straight-up deleted. Hadn't realized I was being so un-PC so hopefully my edited version can still contribute to this discussion.
Edit and redacted version for the faint of heart. Ironically, this is Quentin we are talking about here. AND BY THE WAY! Quentin's quote in the press conference was so dead on (paraphrasing so bear with me) and is so apropos to me having to edit my post: "I prefer any time before cell phones."
I watched the Q&A prior to finding this thread and at the time thought to myself what a [redacted] fun person at parties that reporter is/was for asking the most [redacted] [redacted] head scratching (insert hashtag here) "equal lines for every actor" bull [edit] poop question and in doing so ends up spoiling a part of the film. And you could tell Quentin was super [edit/language/replaced with] annoyed, not at the equality aspect per se but that she basically revealed that Tate's murder isn't necessarily the focus of this movie but more of a slice of life, glimpse interwoven into the tale of a fading actor and his stuntman. At least that's my take away, not having seen more than the few trailers that are out there. Knowing how these press events work, I'm sure the reporters were asked (told) to keep their line of questioning on the experience and filmmaking process and to stay away from spoiling things like: "Tarantino, in The Hateful Eight why did you choose to keep Channing Tatum hidden off-screen under the floorboards for more than half of the movie?" It's called story telling [edit/language/replaced with] lady, woman or however you identify as a creature, person.
This [redacted] reporter/vloger/whatever she claims to be needs to take her agenda and [redacted, redacted, redacted, redacted, redacted, whoah nelly!]. A filmmakers decision to give equal lines of dialogue to all actors is up to the writer(s) and or director. If she's so hung-up on these inequalities why doesn't she become a director and make her own movies, I'll wait patiently for her debut.

Yes, beause calling her a c-nt and the situation is retarded is really appropriate?
And you're completely wrong. It has been known for a while that the film does not completely revolve around around Manson and the Tate murder.

“If you aren’t a master chef, how can you criticize food?” Is always a terrible argument.

this reminds me of a yahoo article I clicked on the other day
Title was along the lines " Actress A gets her son body shamed on public and she lashes out"
So she posted a pic of her with her son on social media and mentions the baby weights like 30 pounds then someone replies "maybe try doing portion control" so she replies back "excuse me?, no"
-end of story

I was already stoked for this (as I usually am for any upcoming QT film) but after seeing the trailer and reading some of the reviews, I'm really stoked, can't wait!

Yeah, this is gonna be awesome. Watched the video of the 30min panel at Cannes - thought it was pretty good. QT's response to the NYT reporter was spot on

^ I definitely need to give Death Proof another watch. I remember mostly enjoying it, but the first kill...
made me squirm. It wasn't even that violent, as I recall... especially compared to everything that comes afterwards.

Excellent interview about the film with Pitt and DiCaprio in today's New York Times:

I think if Tarantino is nuanced at anything it's presenting death in emotionally violent ways that may or may not be gory. Some of the most startling death scenes in his movies are pretty mild in the gore department, but they shock you for sure.

PITT You know when you have an altercation in public or you put your foot in your mouth, and you’re driving home and you think of that witty thing that you wished you would have said? His dialogue is that witty thing.

I still don't know about this one...I wasn't overwhelmed by the trailer. If anything, it reminded me more of The Nice Guys than anything else. Not that that's a bad thing, I liked that film quite a bit.

I'll go see this, of course, although after watching the trailer I still can't tell what this is actually about.
