I remember watching this rivalry as a kid--hopefully the movie is good:

I loved McEnroe, but sometimes he went a little too far...

Having said that, this rivalry could make for a great movie. But it would need a really good script and the trailer doesn't make it look like they came up with that script. We'll see.

Had Hawk-eye existed back in those days, McEnroe would've been a much calmer player. He still was never jerk like Jimmy Conners had been.

As a tennis fan and player myself, I'm intrigued by the actual scenes of tennis. Did they have two doubles stand in and play and only had close ups of the actors faces? I know Shia isn't even left handed, so him convincingly playing lefty and not looking completely awkward will be interesting.

I saw some blurb from McEnroe about this movie. He said that neither he nor Bjorn Borg were consulted or had any input at all, and aside from that, he was most concerned that the actual tennis wouldn't be convincing at all unless they cut in actual footage of the real matches.

HBO Sports had a documentary on the rivalry between these two which was really good, and of course used actual match footage. This would seem kind of redundant and unnecessary.

I watched about 70 minutes of this on a plane. I liked the lead actors, but it wasn’t really that interesting, and there wasn’t much game action. It was also odd that there appeared to be a fair amount of dialogue in Swedish that wasn’t translated. I was trying to hold out for the climactic match, but I finally decided to just watch something else.

This movie was more about Borg than McEnroe.

I thought Shia playing McEnroe was going to be a joke but he was alright though he did not have a lot of screen time.

I can't imagine anyone being interested in this movie unless they follow pro tennis.

I don't follow tennis and I was interested. It was pretty good.
