My favorite role of his was as Junior in the Unseen...one of my most watched movies as I am always left in tears from laughing so much whenever he is on screen:

RIP

I knew him for St. Elsewhere before Animal House. Too bad.

I knew him best as Vir Cotto from Babylon 5...

Vir, waving at the severed head of Morden on a pike:

RIP Stephen.

Well, I knew him from Animal House first, but yeah, he was GREAT on St. Elsewhere and held his own opposite Denzel, which is saying something.
Seriously, not a slouch in that cast :

Well, maybe Howie Mandell...

IIRC, I think his character suddenly died on the Penultimate episode of that show -- the same one where Denzel bails on his residency, saying "I'm free!". Better episode that the famous but cheap and unrealistic finale twist.

Possibly Furst's best scene ever...

Flounder
Dr. Eliot Axelrod
Vir Cotto

and a Twisted Sister video on top of all that.

Always a great actor, even when beyond playing the "woeful fat guy".

Now I wanna rewatch B5 from start to finish again.

Yeah, he was great - no doubt.

Now I wanna rewatch B5 from start to finish again.
That's what I did last year when Jerry Doyle died. And I found that I enjoyed it just as much the 4th time through as I did the 2nd - still my all time favorite show.

It's just shocking how many members of that cast have died prematurely.

Yeah, Stephen Furst is the sixth regular cast member to die young. Richard Biggs (44), Andreas Katsulas (59), Jeff Conaway (60), Michael O'Hare (60), and Jerry Doyle (60).

And all of the main cast from B5's contemporary Star Trek series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, are still with us.

I had already planned to re-watch Babylon 5 for the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge next month. We have lost a lot of members of that cast particularly for a show that is not that old.

I found this online several years ago, researching the proper order to view the B5 series and movies (in case you're interested):

Movie: The Gathering
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Movie: In the Beginning
1st 2 disks of Season 4
Movie: Thirdspace
Remainder of Season 4
Season 5 (all but the last episode)
Movie: River of Souls
Movie: Call to Arms
Season 5 (final episode)

Crusade (if you have it)

Yes, this is what I remember most as well. As a kid growing up in the 80s, watched this countless times.

I always think Animal House when I see him. Great performance. He will be missed.

Not to wear my Geek-Fu stripes TOO proudly, but I started watching B5 on opening night on PTEN, I think it was January 1993 To me it's just the the core series and "In The Beginning" -- and I think even that should be watched when it aired, between Seasons 4 and 5, as it does have some spoilers.

I like to watch them in broadcast order. The rest of the movies and spin-offs never really did it for me, I'm afraid. That "Legends of the Rangers" pilot... yeesh.
