Reverse Sheep Game: ALIENS vs. SHEEP vs. PREDATORS vs. TERMINATORS

It took me some time to recover from Alien: Covenant and the deep dive I have been on ... but since IFC ran the Predator movies this past weekend, I figured I had better get this out.

Please do not postpone submitting answers too long. I will hold the game until we have a decent number of players, but not forever.

Also, please pay attention to the game specific rules!!!

Oh, and ... please be gentle with me.

Reverse Sheep: Aliens vs. Sheep vs. Predators vs. Terminators

http://www.forsyard.com/images/1992/terminator2Ad.jpg

The basic rules:
Intro for first time players
Spoiler:
(Reverse) Sheep is a game that is part Family Feud, part trivia game. The object of the game is to outwit other players through a series of questions that are usually united in theme. There are two types of questions.

The first, Sheep, is one where you try to think like everyone else and match their answers. The more people you match, the better you do. Let's say we have a game of six players (A through F). A Sheep question might be something like "Name a great color." Sheep questions never have right or wrong answers. Let's say our five players answered like this:

Players A, C, and E said "Blue"
Players B and D said "Green"
Player F said "Chartreuse"

Scoring in Sheep games is like golf: the lower your score, the better. The "Blue" players get -3 points (and the best answer). The "Green" players get -2 points. Player F did not match anyone and gets 0 points.

The second type of question, Reverse Sheep, is the exact opposite. You want to avoid matching other players. A Reverse Sheep question might be something like "Name a state on the Atlantic Coast." Reverse Sheep questions always have right or wrong answers. Let's say our players answered like this:

Players D and E said "Delaware"
Players F and B said "Maine"
Player C said "Texas"
Player A said "South Carolina"

The "Delaware" players get +2 points (a penalty, since you want to have a low score). The "Maine" players also get +2 points. Player C's answer might be debated among the players to see if it is considered correct or not. Wrong answers always score above the most common answer. You're always better off going for something obvious than for something obviously wrong.

That's the gist of it. Each person running a game adds little rules here and there but those are the basics.

General Rules
Spoiler:
The object of the game is to out-think everyone by picking answers to questions that are the most common (<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #F9DF00">Sheep</FONT>) or least common (<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #A3D867">Reverse Sheep</FONT>), but still correct.
Example <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #F9DF00">Sheep</FONT> question: "Name a professional golfer." A good answer might be Tiger Woods and a bad answer might be Chichi Rodriguez.
Example <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #A3D867">Reverse Sheep</FONT> question: "Name a play by Shakespeare." Romeo & Juliet might be a bad answer, but Two Gentlemen of Verona might be a good answer. (Unless everyone is trying to go as obscure as possible).
Scores are tallied according to the number of players answering that question. Sheep answers are tallied as negative. Reverse Sheep answers are tallied as positive. The lowest score wins.
There is no such thing as wrong answer for a Sheep question.
Wrong answers in Reverse Sheep are scored two points above the most common answer.
EXCEPT WHERE DESIGNATED, you may not cheat by using Google, Wikipedia, etc. Use only what's in your head.
Please send in your answers to me via PM. Place only one answer per line, without numbers, set info, or the question itself. Add {sd} to the end of the answer, not the beginning. Those who do not do this will be penalized 10 points right off the bat.
Note: Be creative with your answers, but don't be stupid.
Sheep questions are marked by an <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #F9DF00">S:</FONT>, Reverse Sheep questions are marked by an <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #A3D867">R:</FONT>.

Game-Specific Rules

To be considered correct, answers must be from information appearing on screen in the Alien, Predator, or Terminator franchises. Certain questions will ask for answers outside of this – follow the parameters in those questions!

Questions will specify the appropriate franchise or "All" if an answer can come from more than one (or none) of the franchises. Pay attention! A +5 penalty will be assessed for violations.

Unique Bonus: Reverse Sheep questions will generate additional bonus (negative) points according to the following:
1 Unique is awarded -20
2 Uniques are awarded -15 each
3 Uniques are awarded -10 each
4+ Uniques are awarded -5 each

Slam Dunks {sd} Players have the power of multipliers in their hands. Each player is given five (5) Slam Dunks ({sd}) which they use by adding {sd} to the end of their answer. Your Slam Dunks have different effects depending on the question you use it on:
In <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #F9DF00">Sheep</FONT> questions, the {sd} adds 1 to the Multiplier.
In <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #A3D867">Reverse Sheep</FONT> questions, you can use your {sd} to turn the question into a sheep question for you. However, if your answer is wrong, it does nothing.
Slam dunks cannot be stacked. Use one per question only or else they will be discarded. You cannot use two slam dunks to turn a Reverse into a Sheep and then slam dunk those sheep answers.

Here we go …

Aliens vs. Sheep vs. Predator vs. Terminator

1.) (All) What is your favorite film from the three franchises?
2.) (All) What is your least favorite film the three franchises?
3.) (Alien) R -- Name a ship from the Alien franchise.
4.) (Alien) R -- "Hudson sir; he's Hicks." Other than these two lovable soldiers, name another Colonial Marine in Aliens.
5.) (All) What is the greatest quote from the three franchises?
6.) (All) Continuity isn't the strong suit of any of these franchises. What is the most egregious and offensive continuity mistake (set up in one film and changed in a future installment)?
7.) (Alien) R -- Aliens don't count. Name a non-human character from the Alien franchise.
8.) (All) Director's cuts, editor's cuts, workprint versions … too many to count … Which film is most improved by the extended cut?
10.) (Predator) What is your favorite weapon/gadget from the Predator franchise?
11.) (Terminator) T2: Judgment Day was the only Terminator film to receive Academy Award nominations -- six nominations and four wins to be precise. Name a category it was nominated in.
12.) (Predator) In the Predator franchise, who is the biggest badass not named Dutch? (actor or character acceptable, will match them)
13.) (All) R -- You may Google this question and this question ONLY! Name a comic book crossover involving one of our titular franchises (it must have a form of "versus" in the title).
14.) (Alien) Ripley, Ripley, Ripley … It's all about Ripley. If it hadn't been Ripley, which other character from the Alien franchise would you want to see headlining movies in the Alien universe?
15.) (All) What is the best parody (TV, film, or print) of any of the three franchises?
16.) (Alien) Name a movie that is not part of the Alien franchise, but has the word "alien" in its title.
17.) (Predator) There have been many proposed settings for future Predator installments. What setting would you like to see for a Predator film? (Use the location, time period, or significant events to describe; I will score liberally but will penalize overly broad answers such as "Earth" or "war".)
18.) (All) R -- The ensemble casts have been some of the greatest strengths of these films. Name two (or more) actors who appeared together in a franchise film and a non-franchise film. (They do not have to appear in a scene together, just in the same film. Three parts to this answer -- two actors and one non-franchise film!)
19.) (Terminator) The Terminator will return … Other than Arnold, who should be the next Terminator?
20.) (All) Which franchise is your favorite?

Yeah, is there a question missing or is the numbering just messed up?

I have mine ready, just waiting to hear on the numbering issue before submitting.

Question 18 says all, but only includes Alien and Predator in the question. Should Terminator be in there too?

I started to remove Terminator questions since I didn't have very many specific ones, but then it messed up some other questions. I apparently forgot to replace this question. We will go without it and I will fix any numbering errors in the submission. Now I'm wondering what question I lost ...

Stupid questions get stupid answers: Yes, we are including stupid movies. :D

Yes, Terminator should be included (see my explanation above). I will fix the question. Note: I also added some clarification -- they do NOT necessarily have to appear in a scene together; just have to be in the same movie.

Don't know if this was intentional on Abob Teff's part, but I just noticed he posted this game on June 12th, the 30th anniversary of Predator's release on June 12th 1987.

Abob - Have you checked out our new IMAX yet?

I was not even aware of it until I heard about it on the Now Playing podcast. I pretty much try to completely avoid AMC in Springfield -- too many terrible experiences, overpriced for poor quality, and now they have those damn digital Coke machines. I will go to Springfield occasionally, but I usually hit the IMAX in Bloomington or go to Lincoln. That said, I suppose I will have to check it out.

As long as your computer doesn't become sentient and homicidal before then.

These were tough questions for casual fans, like myself, so I bet its going to be hard to get a lot of players.

Six more are in for a total of 12! I'm on my phone now, so I'll post the updated list tonight. I will start scoring over the weekend. Once I'm done with that heroin binge, I will start calculating the scores for the game. Get your answers in by late Sunday please! And remember, some damn fool accused you of being the best!

Yeah, my best franchise is Terminator and my worst is Predator, so it's a tough sell for me. I'll submit some terrible answers if I have time, though.
