I am sorry but your argument is horseshit. Critics opinions on movies are no greater or more valuable or more correct than anyone else's. Your list is no better than anyone else's.

It's just a different perspective. You may see weaknesses and mistakes and flaws in a movie and dislike it for that, but that does not mean your opinion is more correct.

Just like the self masturbatory art circles, the real greatness of films is measured when people of all perspectives generally agree that it is a great movie. Truly great art is recognized by all as is truly great movies a subset of art.

In my view, from that perspective, there has not been a truly great film this century yet.

Of that New York Times list, I would only agree with "There Will Be Blood" and "Boyhood". It would take me at least a week to come up with my top 25. But the ones that immediately come to mind are: "Drive", "No Country for Old Men", "Donnie Darko", "In Bruges', "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", "Ghost World" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2009). Great homework assignment. I want to dig deeper and come up with more.

Munich and The Hurt Locker??? I thought those were very average films.
