So nostalgia for both eras lasted for a decade + a few years.
Since this is really off topic, and to keep the thread more streamlined...
Spoiler:
American Graffiti actually took place in 1962, and was only tens year out. But since it was also pre Kennedy assassination, pre Beatles/Brit invasion, pre Gulf of Tonkin era, it was easy to conceptually view it as more emblematic of the previous decade than what sticks out mostly as "the Sixties" in people's minds.

Fifties's nostalgia in the Seventies included two top ten comedy shows for most of that decade (Happy Day's and the Korean War set M.A.S.H.) both of which were either off the air by the mid Eighties or had long abandoned any real pretense at period authenticity.

From my view, the Fifties nostalgia wave peaked in 1978 with the theatrical release of Grease as well as the Buddy Holly Story. Sha-Na-Na, had a weekly TV show and probably saw it's highest ratings at that point.
By the next year, the focus would be on the coming of a new decade and trends like punk and New Wave were filtering into the mainstream with groups like Blondie.
By the end of '81, Sha-Na-Na was off the air and the biggest influencer of fashion and trends for that decade and beyond was just dawning (MTV). Fifties era iconography was definitely passe by '82-'83. When I went to see The Big Chill, no longer were the adults in the picture listening to do-wop or reminiscing to Fats Domino on the soundtrack- it was all Sixties.

I want to say that poster is first semester Photoshop student bad, but that still belongs to X-Men First Class. So I guess I'll say that's some superb second semester Photoshop work.

Again, I think this is the way it works.
Ezra Miller as Flash is rumored to be out as well.

Hope so. Him and the guy who played Cyborg were terrible in their roles.

Actually liked the casting for Supes, Bat, WW, and Aquaman.

My presumption was that the golden oldies radio format would forever be Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, etc. I was wrong.

Will this have an 80s soundtrack like Atomic Blonde? That's one of the best compilations IMO.

I actually didn't mind Ray Fisher as Cyborg but I don't think he really stood out. Also didn't care for the character's design.

So then, what’s the over/under on Wonder Woman having a fight sequence set to Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation”?

If they don’t have a montage with Let’s Get Physical and Gal in leg warmers I’ll burn the theatre to the ground.

Or something from Pat Benatar! “We Belong” in Deadpool 2 was great. “Invincible” in Legend of Billie Jean, of course. She’s actually been in at least one episode of some great series’. Day 1 for WW2 either way.

It's even money on cuts from both Prince and Madonna at least being heard in the background at some point (both Warner-owned artists) and for whom 1984 was a pivotal year.
The two Pat Benatar songs listed above would be anachronistic in a film taking place in 1984, but I do expect we get some of that too anyway.

Sorry. You're right. We Belong is '84. Invincible is '85...but close enough for a film that will surely have other anachronisms as well.

I’m already digging the brighter uniform!

Much better than the “clotted blood” color from Justice League.

Man, remember when this was supposed to come out last month. I know it's probably pointless to ponder this, but I'm curious how it would have done if it stuck to it's original release date.

IIRC, they wrapped filming in late 2018. So they've literally spent well over 1 year on post production and maybe a few re-shoots.

there wasn’t too much shown in that trailer, but what was shown was how I imagined a modern Wonder Woman movie to be like. The desaturated costume worked well for WWI and this new colorful one works great for the 80s, and even in general.

Fingers crossed for a scene where Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman slowly emerges from a bathtub naked while "When Doves Cry" plays.

Decent but not mindblowing trailer. Needs more Cheetah. I don't really dig the 80's synth score, but I can understand them using it.
