But 50s nostalgia went big with American Graffiti in 1973 and it lasted all the way to 1989.
80s nostalgia started to get big around the tail end of the '00s with 808s and Heartbreaks and The Fame Monster in 2008 and 2009 respectively. In film it probably started in 2010 with Hot Tub Time Machine and Tron Legacy.
So nostalgia for both eras lasted for a decade + a few years.

I want to say that poster is first semester Photoshop student bad, but that still belongs to X-Men First Class. So I guess I'll say that's some superb second semester Photoshop work.
Ezra Miller as Flash is rumored to be out as well.
I'm somewhat out of the loop. Affleck is out as Batman. Cavill is out as Supes. Is the DCEU dead? Is Wonder Woman now a franchise not tied to any Justice League movies? Is the Twilight Batman Trilogy part of the DCEU or a stand alone trilogy? What about the new Suicide Squad? I'm profoundly confused.
Well, I think Superman and Batman will be referenced occasionally, but not seen. The DCEU still has Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, and Flash (and maybe Cyborg?). I THINK the new Suicide Squad is in the same universe. The Joker movie and the upcoming Batman movie are separate universes.
Again, I think this is the way it works.

My presumption was that the golden oldies radio format would forever be Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, etc. I was wrong.

So then, what’s the over/under on Wonder Woman having a fight sequence set to Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation”?

If they don’t have a montage with Let’s Get Physical and Gal in leg warmers I’ll burn the theatre to the ground.

Or something from Pat Benatar! “We Belong” in Deadpool 2 was great. “Invincible” in Legend of Billie Jean, of course. She’s actually been in at least one episode of some great series’. Day 1 for WW2 either way.

It's even money on cuts from both Prince and Madonna at least being heard in the background at some point (both Warner-owned artists) and for whom 1984 was a pivotal year.
The two Pat Benatar songs listed above would be anachronistic in a film taking place in 1984, but I do expect we get some of that too anyway.
Sorry. You're right. We Belong is '84. Invincible is '85...but close enough for a film that will surely have other anachronisms as well.

I’m already digging the brighter uniform!
Much better than the “clotted blood” color from Justice League.

Man, remember when this was supposed to come out last month. I know it's probably pointless to ponder this, but I'm curious how it would have done if it stuck to it's original release date.
IIRC, they wrapped filming in late 2018. So they've literally spent well over 1 year on post production and maybe a few re-shoots.

there wasn’t too much shown in that trailer, but what was shown was how I imagined a modern Wonder Woman movie to be like. The desaturated costume worked well for WWI and this new colorful one works great for the 80s, and even in general.

Decent but not mindblowing trailer. Needs more Cheetah. I don't really dig the 80's synth score, but I can understand them using it.
