Wiig as Cheetah sounds like the kind of casting they pulled with the 1990s Batman movies.

IDK, Michelle Pfeiffer was great as Catwoman. To each their own, I guess

I don't really see Wiig in something like this, but maybe she'll surprise me.

Well that much is obvious.

Kristen Wiig could be okay as a potential villainess for Wonder Woman. I’d prefer Emma Stone but I can see her avoiding comic book films.

Wiig will play a great timid pre-Cheetah scientist IF they go that route; and she was good playing a scientist in Ghostbusters. I also though she was pretty good in her dramatic role in The Martian.

But why would the studio be against it? I mean, it makes perfect sense to have Wonder Woman charging across a battlefield like that.

Also, there were many who raised an eyebrow when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker, so I'm more than willing to give her a chance since Wiig is a solid actress.
Same here. I didn't have a problem with Ledger, but I thought Gadot was an bad choice. Virtually an unknown, and supermodel thin. And it turned out to be a great choice.

I'll just wait to for the eventual trailer before I start to doubt anything.

I imagine she'll just be all business, like in mother!

Spoiler:

... Yeah, I know nothing about Cheetah. It seems like it'd be a heavily CG'd role though, knowing how previous DCEU movies have gone.

I like Cheetah as a villlain and she’s one of the big ones I think of for Wonder Woman. I just don’t know how well she’s going to transfer to live action. It’s not like she’s wearing a costume. It could look really silly if done wrong.

They’ll probably make her act like Cruella de Vil.

re: Wonder Woman 1984 (2020, D: Jenkins) S: Gadot, Wiig -- News and Rumors

‘Wonder Woman 2’ Shooting Stateside After All – Diana Working Alongside The U.S. Government?

Omega Underground has learned a new detail about the Wonder Woman 2 (Magic Hour) production. The sequel will indeed film in the United States and where it’s shooting might actually reveal something to do with the film’s plot.

We’ve learned that Wonder Woman 2 will be filming scenes this June in and around the area of Northern Virginia/District of Columbia.

Director Patty Jenkins did suggest to EntertainmentWeekly the film would be set in the United States.

“The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.”

Why could these filming locations be important to the story?

Well, Washington D.C. is home to The White House (Senate/House of Reps) and the C.I.A. headquarters just happens to be located in Virginia. There’s a strong possibility that the U.S. Government could be getting involved in the film which isn’t terribly surprising due to the 1980s Cold-War setting and the Soviet Union already said to be part of the plot.

Whether Diana is working for the Americans has to yet to be determined but there’s a good chance as the modern version of Steve Trevor happens to be a C.I.A. Agent. The agency didn’t exist during World War I which is why the Chris Pine version was simply an Allied spy. Possibly this could be how they insert the next male lead or reintroduce Chris Pine as rumored. This is just our speculation.

An 80’s incarnation of A.R.G.U.S. (seen in Suicide Squad) could make a return as well as Trevor worked for them too.

There is still an expectation that they’ll be filming stage stuff over the summer in the United Kingdom.

Kristen Wiig officially plays the villainess Cheetah, while Gal Gadot reprises the titular role.

Filming begins on May 28th with a release date of November 1st, 2019.

So ... this will retcon the whole “laying low for 100 years” thing?

Well, since we already knew there is a sequel set before BvS, of course. But if she's working with the government, could be kept under wraps from the public, not that that kind of thing would fly today since they leak like sieve.
