I loved how they saved the "reveal" of her outfit until right before she went to tear shit up. Such a badass.

She paused on her way out and you could see a little bit of the red and blue costume in the foreground. Then you could see a bit again when she went to get Steve and her cloak opened up.

Loved it. And Gal Gadot is stunningly beautiful in it.
Random thoughts:
- loved the Superman: The Movie homage with the alleyway scene and the glasses bit right before it
- No Batman cameo. Fuck Batman. I'm sick and tired of him
- The Last Jedi teaser looked even better on the big screen.

I liked it a lot. I think it's one of those movies that will still hold up to repeat watches pretty well.
First of all, I will say that this movie is basically carried by Gadot and Pine. They have great charisma and if they were dating after this it wouldn't surprise me. Pine is great as Trevor and Gadot is great as Wonder Woman. She looks the part and is so dam charming that it looks like she was made for this role. She isn't at the level of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, or Chris Reeve as Superman but she's close. I did think it was distracting when her accent slipped out quite a bit though.
The movie basically feels like an Indiana Jones movie and it works well. I think the WW1 setting works much better here since they make the Germans the bad guys as opposed to Hydra being the baddies in WW1. I also liked how they didn't trivialize the war. Yes there is humor in the movie, but it doesn't shy away from showing the cost of war which again was something that Cap was lacking.
My main gripes about it are that I think the movie looked kind of dull and somewhat low budget. Say what you will about Snyder but he is a hell of a visuals man. I also think that some of the plot twists are telegraphed really painfully. Like a two year old could spot them. Also it was nice to see Luck Davis but she looks almost unrecognizable from her days on The Office. Also the finale with Ares starts to go into the usual superhero territory of an over the top battle.
Overall I would give this a 4.5/5. It's a movie with some good action, great heart and I won't lie it had me in tears towards the end of the movie. It's a great movie that's perfect for the summer and a great showcase for Wonder Woman.

Really liked this one. Kind of reminded me of Thor meets Captain America in terms of plot, and had similar plot twists at times, which probably prevented me from giving it a 5 out of 5. Great action throughout, especially once Diana is in full swing in No Man's Land. Holy heck, that scene alone was almost worth the price of admission. I even liked the overblown epic end battle, because hey, considering they're gods, I'd expect nothing less. And Gadot and Pine were perfect in their roles.
Did anyone else have trouble understanding Danny Huston at times? I had trouble mainly during his scenes with Doctor Poison. And what was with his super-strength drug? That didn't really work for me, especially in hindsight.
I can't help but get a kick out of all the people sitting through the end credits of every comic book movie these days, thinking they'll miss an end credits scene. I knew from the other thread that there were none, but I liked the score and that Sia song enough to sit through the end credits anyway.

If I recall, when she was taking the sword and shield, something else caught her eye, but they did not show it to us.

I wasn't planning on posting in the forum for a long time because I'm currently overseas on vacation in Asia. But, tonight I saw Wonder Woman tonight here in Shenzhen, China and I freaking loved it. Just an exciting and inspiring 2+ hours. Great origin story and Gal Gadot owned Wonder Woman/Diana. Just stunningly beautiful and awesome athleticism. I really enjoyed her scenes with Pine with some good humor mixed in. They had really good chemistry.
Saw it in a jam packed theater over here and it seems like everyone in my theater enjoyed it too.
Kudos to Patty Jenkins. Great job with this movie. 5 stars all the way.
Alright, back to vacation.
Going to be weird having Wonder Woman back to being a supporting player in Justice League. I really want to see another solo Wonder Woman movie.
Just for clarification purposes...Diana is immortal right?

Seeing it again tomorrow (reserved seating theater w/recliners), taking the wife and her twin sister. I can't believe how excited they are to see this. You'd think it was the Han Solo movie already!

My wife was questioning this as well actually. Are they more "mortal" within the Themyscira bubble? But outside they're more...invulnerable? Kinda like Superman is on Krypton? Is it when you've reached your "prime", you just stop?
I'm not knowledgeable enough in WW lore to know these things.

I don't consider this movie to be a game changer for the DCEU. It's being described as that by fans and critics, but I'm a bit stunned at the Rotten Tomatoes score after watching it myself. Gal Gadot just didn't click for me. She's wasn't terrible, but I honestly felt nothing for her characterization of Diana and couldn't get invested in the love story with Steve. His "sacrifice" felt more like a plot contrivance than something for the audience to get choked up over... as if THAT was the only logical way to dispose of some gas.
I guessed the villain twist the moment the actor showed up on screen, so that reveal had zero impact. Then they put him in lame armor so visual effects artists could more cheaply render him as a flying CG menace. Been there, done that. The whole climactic battle was ugly and tedious to sit through - right out of a bad video game. At least most of the outdoor scenes on Themyscira were sunny. That was a welcome reprieve from all the drab color grading these Snyder produced flicks are subjected to. Too bad it didn't last long. The fight scenes were nicely choreographed, but all those slow down/speed up shots feel tired and cliched at this point. I can understand why this movie might have its fans, but DC is batting 0/4 for me. Time to throw in the towel.
