So we don't want to be talking Ghostbusters remake where the whole film was a casting nightmare

Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist in The World is not enough, totally unbelievable

Recently Kevin james as the US President in Pixels

Any time I see a list like this I have to wonder why people think this way. Why do people think that a person like Denise Richards couldn't be a scientist? Because she is pretty? Because she comes off as dopey and kind of stupid? She could be the smartest person in the world, but we would never know because she believes that she has to keep up the dumb ruse for the public.

And then we have Kevin James. Why couldn't he be President? Because he is fat and dopey? Have you seen the giant baby that runs our country lately. I would pick Kevin James over the current "president" any day of the week. James seems like a guy you could hang out with. Trump just wants to make money while doing everything that the President shouldn't do.

Quick edit: Read the title of the thread wrong. Still stand by what I said, but can't think of anyone right now.

Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Fighter pilots have to be a certain height and Tom ain't anywhere close to it.

In some situations they want shorter pilots due to the cramped cockpit configuration.

I believe Anita played Jackie's step-mom. In any event, she had the mannerisms and vocal intonations of a middle-aged Chinese woman of a certain social class down pat and was very funny.

I used to train Navy fighter pilots. Just like with submarine crewmembers, there are height limitations. Not only being able to fit inside certain cockpits but the ejection seat must be able to function correctly.

It's pretty basic. Kevin James plays a fat dopey slub in a dozen movies and tv shows and then we're supposed to believe he's President? No.

Same goes for Richards. She plays a vapid blonde who has clearly been cast as eye candy for a half dozen flicks and then she's supposed to be convincing as a nuclear physicist? Huh-uh.

That's a hurdle MOST actors cannot overcome. On the flipside, Jim Carey blew people away in The Truman Show after a string of dopey comedies and In Living Color. He had the acting chops to pull it off, whereas James and Richards do not.

I have to defend Kate McCinnon (sp?) in the Ghostbusters remake. Holtzmann was a delight whenever she was onscreen, even when bogged down by the others.
