Don't really like Mel Gibson irl due to some of the things he's said and done, but I love him on screen and watch pretty much everything he plays in. One of my favorites of his more recent films (those within the past few years) was Blood Father. So definitely looking forward to seeing this one. =)

This trailer dropped on VIMEO about 2 weeks ago. Don't know if it will be the "official" trailer yet. I have not watched it because I was busy posting it to the thread.

After watching the trailer I realized I keep getting "Venmo" and Vimeo mixed up.
Looks okay I guess, but almost borderline direct to Netflix type of thing. I don't harbor the love as most have for Bone Tomahawk, I thought that was just okay. I guess this is more of the same.

I watched CB99 over the holidays just to see what they hoopla was about. I cared for it even less, more so only because of Vince Vaughn. His foray into the "I'm a serious ass dramatic actor" thing isn't working for him at all. Between this and True Detective, I just can't take him seriously in anything he attempts to act dramatically in. At any rate, I'll check this one out, because of Mel Gibson. Maybe he can counter Vaughn in this one, although Vaughn seems to be leaning back towards some comedic banter in this.

Looks more like a trailer they cut together to try and sell it for distribution, which is odd since Summit was supposed to put it out. Maybe they dropped it and no longer has distribution. Or he leaked it without company logos, etc.

Four IMDB comments so far. Three are short, concise, extremely positive write-ups that sound legit. The fourth is a one-line rave, like somebody was put up to it.

Looks like it was the latter since the trailer is now private.

Finally getting released. Here is the real "official" trailer:

DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE follows two police detectives who find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics is leaked to the media. With little money and no options, the embittered policemen descend into the criminal underworld and find more than they wanted waiting in the shadows.

Why can't Zahler get a proper theatrical release? I know theres been very limited releases for his films, but haven't all 3 gone straight to digital/on demand/blu-ray? Marketed properly and I think all 3 could have found some success.

He has final cut on all of his films. Working in the low budget spectrum affords him the luxury of releasing films the way he wants them released, without the studio suits demanding cuts and edits.

Fair enough, but Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn. I dunno. Obviously both are past their peak, but put them in a really good movie and both can still put asses in seats. Once the film was in the can and if its as good as Zahler's last 2, I'm surprised they didn't try for a theatrical push. Although to be fair I really have no idea about the business end of it.

Looks cool. I won't blind buy it, but I'll definitely rent it. I have noticed that these straight to video Summit releases have made their way to Amazon Prime a few months after the initial release.
I'm glad that Summit/Lionsgate is at least giving all these actors who aren't necessarily box office draws anymore the ability to still work.
