Just watched this. Thought it was good, not great. It fizzled a bit for me in the third act. Like Bong Joon Ho's other films that I've seen, it starts off well and then kind of meanders in the middle.
I usually like Swinton, but this was a performance she could have mailed in. And there wasn't really any point to her playing twin characters.
Jake Gyllenhaal was in "Bubble Boy on Meth" mode. Funny at first, but eventually grating.
After hearing some warnings about this part of the movie, I was prepared for the slaughter scenes to be more graphic than they were. And I expected the ending to be more tragic than it was. It felt like the movie pulled its punches a bit and that gave it less impact than it could have had.
