I'll echo the same sentiments by saying he elevated every film in which he appeared, at least while he was on screen. Loved him in "Extreme Prejudice" and "Tombstone", among many others. The man had that Texas swagger, full of piss and bravado.

Booth was one of those guys who always looked like he was in his early 40s even when he was in his early 30s. He was kind of ageless for awhile, honestly.

EXTREME PREJUDICE could have been unbelievably silly, but the great cast and Hill's efficient, no-nonsense direction really elevated the contrived story and made it work, esp. Nolte and Boothe as former HS football team members/buddies now on opposite sides of the law. I'll never forget Boothe's Cash Bailey in his dirty white suit and Panama hat trying to justify his drug dealing to Nolte's rock-ribbed Texas Ranger: "They want the stuff. They like it," and just drawing the vowels out. Just perfect delivery. Still one of my favorite Hill movies.

Yeah, the old Philip Marlowe, Private Eye series on HBO is what I still remember him the most from. It's a shame that show didn't have higher production values (it was just standard '80s TV level for the most part) because Powers Boothe was an outstanding Philip Marlowe (and given how many great actors have played that role over the years, that's saying a lot).

I started to say that title sequence had a James Bond feel to it ... Then I saw Maurice Binder's name!

After having long run-out of patience for a North American release, I caved and bought it. I was very impressed! The picture quality and sound are stellar. It's basically just the movie with the trailer as the only extra.
It's all-region, auto-plays (no commercials at the beginning) but does have a Japanese language menu with audio options, scene access. I can't read it but it's simple to navigate. The movie defaults to Japanese subtitles but they can be easily removed.
..and it opens with the original Tr-Star studio horse logo!

Nice memorium to Boothe at the end of the Agents of Shield season finale. I'm not the type to root for bad guys, but his portrayal made you sympathetic to his character towards the end of that story arc. That's acting.
