The cut is coming in at 3h 26m. Good for Scorsese getting the cut he wanted, but I wonder if it will hurt box office. I can't remember the last wide release that had a running time like that. Will there be an intermission?

Only 26 minutes longer than Oppenheimer and 10 minutes longer than Avatar 2.

I don't think they're very concerned with BO. it will make some bank on premium screens. At the end of the day, it'll just be on Apple TV+ and they want to drive subs. It will probably be up by Thanksgiving.

This. Seems like it will follow a similar pattern to the Irishman. Just watched that again, for free, on Netflix.

That trailer looked fantastic. Will this be on Apple TV+ shortly after theatrical run?

I'm excited to see what DiCaprio's too-small face and squeaky voice can bring to the role. And it's so wonderful to see him finally team up with Scorcese!

You didn't even mention the other Oscar winner he's finally working with.

Tickets will be available soon at AMC. It's going to play on IMAX screens and regular Laser screens. T.Swift has all the Atmos theaters for her concert film.

Are you saying that as a way to discredit their review? Equalizer 3 received good reviews across the board. 75% fresh with a 94% audience rating on RT currently.

Agree. Don't discredit someone because they like a movie you didn't or don't care to see. Much as I respect Scorsese and want to see this movie, I still haven't made it through The Irishman and always fall asleep after about an hour whenever I try to watch.

Iím pretty amped up that Apple TV is getting this. You know it will be up around Thanksgiving.

and 3 hours, 26 minutes NEEDS multiple pauses and breaks, at least for me.

I enjoyed this historical documentary on YouTube. I don't know how much the movie diverges from history. There may be spoilers.

90min interview

Martin Scorsese interviewed by Edgar Wright | BFI London Film Festival 2023 Screen Talk

The legendary director behind classics such as Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver and The Wolf of Wall Street talks to fellow filmmaker Edgar Wright about his career.

It is impossible to talk about cinema over the last 50 years without mentioning Martin Scorsese. The world of film preservation is no less indebted to him, for his championing the medium’s rich and storied past.

As he unveils his latest opus, the epic historical drama Killers of the Flower Moon, the director explores a body of work that is as daring as it is beautiful, and ground-breaking as it is thrilling. From Mean Streets, Taxi Driver and Raging Bull to The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence and The Irishman, Martin Scorsese has investigated masculinity, honour, the tenets of faith and the forces that shape the world around us. He has done so with a virtuosity that is rarely short of breathtaking.

So excited. I have remained as spoiler free as I ever have on a film outside of a few where I was just looking for any movie to see and walked into the theatre based on the genre, name, and/or poster of the film. Just the cast and the first 4 words of it being described on a podcast.

It's never been about the running time, it's about uncomfortable theatre seats. I'm glad more and more theatres are converting to having those big couch-like recliner seats, but right now, most of my area theatres still have those pull-down, tiny, hard seats. There is only a limited amount of time I can sit in those before I am in uncomfortable pain (about 1 hour 40 minutes BTW, other people, of course, will vary). I'm not interested in a viewing experience where I'm spending the last hour waiting for it to be over so I can find some relief.

I have trouble believing filmmakers are so obtuse they really think watching hours of TV at home is comparable to watching those same hours in a movie theatre.
