The Red Turtle (2016)

I did a search and got nothing here or HD Talk.

Anyone see this? Nominated for Animated Feature. I saw the trailer and was captivated. Ordered the bluray straight away with those good extras.

No dialogue, seems bizarre, seems fascinating...

Looks intriguing but I was hoping to see it on a streaming service.

I've heard it looks great but the movie itself is rather lacking.

I saw this and really enjoyed it. I didn't find it lacking, although viewers who prefer tight narratives (with nothing left open to interpretation) will probably not like it. It's a beautiful-looking movie and one that had me thinking about it for some time afterward. And it's not one of those art-house movies where you have no idea what's going on. You can easily follow what's happening ... it's just a matter of how you want to imagine what was really going on.

Its running time is only 80 minutes so it's not hard to get through. Just don't expect something in the vein of other Studio Ghibli movies (this is really a rather peripheral Studio Ghibli production).
