[frank oz] Groot, I am. [ /frank oz]

or

[matthew perry] Could I BE any more Groot? [ /matthew perry]

I'm happy with the unified front the cast has taken. I do hope that Disney will listen and bring back Gunn.

The implicit message is that they won't (or can't) quit.

They could always mail in their performances to fulfill their contract.

It doesn't matter if they stand behind Gunn. Are they willing to walk away from the project altogether? Can they and will they? How many of them are not bound by contracts to continue with the film? Disney has all the power here.

If no Gunn, the series should continue with Taika Waititi.

They're all signed for 3 GOTG films plus the 2 IW movies.

Well, bound by contract or not, I’m sure none of the GotG cast will cash the Mouse’s checks...

I disagree that it doesn't matter. It matters in that, like the context of their letter, so many things are swayed by public opinion and the cast getting together like that might sway Disney the other way. At least I imagine that's their hope. And mine too.

As I have said before, many actors have collected a nice check while mailing in their performance. It all depends on who Disney hires to replace Gunn and the quality of the script/story placed in front of the actors. I'd hope they can find someone that keeps the same consistency and feel that has already been created for the first two movies.

[samuel l jackson] I am Groot, mother f***er! [/ samuel l jackson]

Vin Diesel needs replaced anyway. His performance as Groot was always a little wooden.

I'd stick with him. No reason to branch out with foul language.

It was a joke ... wooden?

If you want fowl language, wait for the Howard the Duck movie.

I dunno, if you intentionally mail in a performance for a huge movie because of something like this, isn't there the danger you'll get blacklisted? I mean it's one thing if you can't act, but if you just reluctantly read the lines and intentionally try to tank it, Disney for one won't be happy, and I can't imagine other studios would be either.

Sometimes you just have to stand up for something.

No tree jokes here. I thought I’d branch off to a serious reply.

Now that you’ve planted that seed in my mind, I think I’m going to for a little while. Going to spend some time with my family and enjoy getting back to my roots.
