Re: Avengers: Endgame (4/26/19) D: The Russo Bros.
So ... the conversation in the Star Wars thread about the balance of the Force has me thinking about Avengers: Endgame ...
What exactly is the point? There is no more fight, they already lost. I’m not saying “give up” ... I’m asking who or what are they preparing to fight? Thanos achieved what he wanted to achieve. He’s done fighting. It’s not like he still has a functional weapon that the heroes need to take back.
Is there a new “big bad” that they are going up against in order to try to bring back the dead? Or are they just looking for revenge? (Thor was forming a new group called “The Revengers”. )
(Not being argumentative or obtuse ... just thinking out loud and provoking conversation.)

Finally watched the trailer. Nice suits at the end. So who's the team mom that makes them all? Does she bring orange slices after all their battles too?

Congratulations sir, you win the internets today!
Here’s my theory ... The Avengers go after Thanos for revenge/justice. They find a broken and despondent Thanos who cannot stand that he killed Gamorra. Thanos ends up teaming up with the Avengers to try to undo what he has done (remember, the Gauntlet and Infinity Stones were fried). They end up having to go up against some other “big bad” to reverse things.
(I believed from Infnity War that the one victorious outcome Dr. Strange saw involved letting Thanos win. Why else would he have NOT told them what happens? He knew Tony Stark would never go along with what needed to happen.)

I re-watched Ant-Man and Wasp tonight and Hank Pym's suit in that is reminiscent of the more streamlined outfits you see of the team in that Endgame trailer, so it's pretty obvious they're going into the Quantum field.

The more I think about this the more I feel that the second movie would have more impact if Thanos had also dissipated and the Gauntlet dropped to the ground when he snapped his fingers. It would have left the audience wondering how everything could possibly change moving into the second movie. There has to be some element of time travel since you can't undo things that have already been done moving forward in only present time. This would inevitably bring Thanos back and allow some finality to the story.

I think it seems pretty obvious they’re going into the Quantum Realm and that’s where Scott comes in. The Avengers probably get the suits or the tech to put them together from him.

Looks like Marvel has digitally erased another character from this trailer too.
