A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) S: Kunis, Bell, Hahn, Baranski, Hines, Sarandon
Bad Moms is officially (and deservedly) a franchise as the hit comedy’s stars are reuniting for A Bad Moms Christmas, set to hit theaters November 3, 2017.
STX is fast-tracking the holiday-themed sequel sees the titula under-appreciated and over-burdened friends coping with the stresses of the most wonderful time of year as their own mothers visit for the holidays. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn are reprising their roles with Jon Lucas and Scott Moore once again writing and directing. Suzanne Todd will produce with Bill Block executive producing. Casting is currently under way for the Bad Moms’ mothers.
“This is a brand that has enormous goodwill all over the world, so expanding and extending the BAD MOMS franchise in an authentic and irreverent way has been a priority for our team. Jon and Scott have a truly hysterical story that was pure perfection,” said Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group in a statement. “Mila, Kristen and Kathryn are excited to re-team, and we will move forward with A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS on a similar time table and in much the same way in which we produced the original.”

Susan Sarandon, Cheryl Hines and Christine Baranski are joining the cast for the upcoming sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas. They will play the moms of Kathryn Hahn, Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis, respectively.
In the film, Kunis, Bell and Hahn — once again overwhelmed and under-appreciated — face the challenge of creating the perfect Christmas for their families … and their mothers.
Returning cast members Jay Hernandez, David Walton, and Wanda Sykes will all be back for the sequel, as well as newcomers Peter Gallagher and Justin Hartley.
A Bad Moms Christmas is set to be released in theaters Nov. 3.

Should be decent. The first one was good.

Cheryl Hines as Kristen Bell's mom is inspired casting. Look is right, so is the voice.
She's only actually 15 years older than Bell, but I don't think that matters much.

A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS follows our three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers. By the end of the journey, our moms will redefine how to make the holidays special for all and discover a closer relationship with their mothers.

I enjoyed the first one enough to check this out as a rental. Probably not a theater visit unless I'm traveling on business.

AMC is billing the early screening as "GIRLS NIGHT OUT at AMC presents: A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS" and attendees get a Bad Moms Christmas wine glass. Sounds like your scene BLS

Just a week before Daddy's Home 2, which I see as the same movie.
Oh, you like these funny moms? Wait till you see the craziness when their moms visit for Christmas! See Bad Moms Christmas this November!
Oh, you like these funny dads? Wait till you see the craziness when their dads visit for Christmas! See Daddy's Home 2 this November!

Plots are clearly similar, but one is rated R and is marketed at the adult raunchy comedy demographic and the other is rated PG13 and is being marketed as a family comedy.

Saw it last night. Nowhere near as "good" as the first one was. I really didn't like Baranski in this. Too similar to the character she plays on The Big Bang Theory.

This should have opened in December. This will probably make half or less than the first one like Horrible Bosses 2.

Not sure if could think of a movie that could make me hate Christmas so much. What a waste of talent in a humorless and mean-spirited film that actually wanted me to think Mila Kunis's character was in the wrong when Christine Baranski was utterly obnoxious. Of course, we've got to make people think this a warm holiday flick so they tack on a lousy finale that felt as vapid and empty as the rest of it.
