Full 2 1/2 minute trailer
Yup, definitely looking like Die Hard and The Towering Inferno. Looks over the top and fun.
Now the big question which The Rock movie will make more money, this or Rampage?

Looks to be pretty entertaining. I'm a sucker for movies like these. I've got to say though that Neve Campbell looks almost sickly in her first few seconds in the trailer. The years haven't been super kind to her at all.

The memes going around where folks are calculating the probability of the jump on the poster are hilarious.

I wonder how much of this was actually filmed in China.
And, yes, whoever made that leap would obviously be dead now.

I've been wondering about this since the earliest teaser. The building and the surrounding cityscape seem so disconnected from the main action that the film could have been shot just about anywhere with composited backgrounds. Along with most of the actors, the Asians in the cast and especially on the stunt team are virtually all from Canada, with a few Americans sprinkled in. IMDB lists three distinct shooting locations in British Columbia, and "China" all by itself, even though the "skyscraper" is clearly situated in Hong Kong based on the establishing and background shots in the trailer. My guess is they filmed substantial aerial background material in Hong Kong, then made the entire movie here in Canada. In fact, the entire cast and crew is so stacked with Canadians I'm surprised this isn't considered a Canadian production flat out. Presumably they at least took advantage of all the relevant tax credits!
Furthermore, and somewhat thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any Mainland Chinese companies co-financing this, which probably explains why there's lno pandering to Mainland audiences with sore thumb casting choices and CCP censor dictates. Knowing that country's history of shoddy construction practices, would they really want to fund a movie that hinges on shoddy construction practices? Certainly Hong Kong audiences wouldn't be so touchy about the subject matter, much like the Koreans made a hit out of THE TOWER in 2012 despite it being critical of real-life deficiencies in the Korean construction industry.
