...if they went that route, I vote Gugu Mbatha-ra. Though I assume they'd go younger.

Cool beans, this is exactly the type of character that Joss can work wonders with.

36, I think.

I'd rather see her play Catwoman. She's scrappy and can cop attitude, so she'd be perfect for Selina. Plus, she'll probably be forty the time any of this stuff starts filming, making her closer in age to Affleck.

They could make two DCEU films per year and one Batman-related DCEU film per year on top of that. Looks like the MCU will be doing three a year, so it doable.

I'd actually be over the moon if we got a "franchise" film every month of the year: 3 Marvels, 3 DCs, 1 X-Men, 1 Star Wars, 1 Star Trek, 1 Harry Potterverse, and whatever else (Godzilla, Universal monsters) to fill the gap.

What is the style of BatGirl in comics? Type of girl I mean. Is she just Batman, but female. Gadgets and stuff? I guess Brie Larson and Hathaway are out. What about Vikander or Felicity Jones?

Not Vikander, she'd be too skinny for the role.

I think for this movie you have to cast someone in their mid-twenties to early 30's tops.

and then get Affleck to cameo in it.

I think DC will cast someone who isn't a huge star. Aside from Affleck, when Cavill, Gadot and Ezra Miller were cast, they weren't really well known actors to the mainstream.

I know she's already been landed by Marvel but my vote would go to Karen Gillan.

I'd be ok with a Mary Elizabeth Winstead too.

Well, if it's going to be within the universe she would be JK Simmons daughter.

FWIW, the name I thought of first was that girl from the Denis Leary Rock and Roll show, Elizabeth Gillies.

I respectfully submit Madelaine Petsch if they decide to go younger. Yes, she is a natural red head. Whedon isn't a major name to most people but this is still a hell of a get by WB.

http://comicbook.com/movies/2017/03/...-morgan-rumor/

There's a rumor that one of the stars from The CW series "The 100" Lindsey Morgan might be in contention for the role.

As excited as I am about this film I guess I don't have an actress in mind for the role. Some of the women posted here look good but I don't know most of them from anything.

I've noticed people are immediately jumping to redheaded actresses. Why? Just find a good actress who's perfect for the role .It's not like Chris Evans has blonde hair, for example.

That said, redheads...

He made the 5th highest box office hit of all time. Who doesn't know who Whedon is?

Really? I'm going to say the average movie goer just wanted to see the Avengers team up rather then pay attention to who directed the movie.
