Hopefully they have an exceptional screenplay. The original was stellar and mind blowing but it went downhill quick after that with the two follow ups.

I think there's one good movie somewhere in the two sequels. I generally thought the scenes inside the matrix worked, while the scenes in the "real world" didn't.

The Wachowskis were playing with some very big ideas which we rarely see in most science fiction films. They just screwed up a bunch of the human stuff.

John Wick will most likely move. Lionsgate can't afford to botch the release date and fail to maximize its profits. For Warners it's less risky, even if The Matrix 4 costs twice as much to make.
