Rank the X-Men Universe movies...

with the inclusion, i suppose, of Deadpool and now that Logan is out and getting great reviews and did great this opening weekend, rank all the movies in the X-Men Universe...

i'm seeing Logan tonight, so i will reserve top spot judgement until after. i have a hunch, but we'll see...

1. Logan (2017)
2. X-Men (2000)
3. X2: X-Men United (2003)
4. Deadpool (2016)
5. X-Men: First Class (2011)
6. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
7. The Wolverine (2013)
8. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) (i'll give it another go sometime, but didn't really like this one, could change on second viewing though)
9. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
10. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

and what's your favorite?

For me it's:

1. Logan
2. First Class (I think it's highly under rated by most)
3. X2
4. Days of Future Past
5. The Wolverine (another that's highly under rated)
6. X-men
7. Deadpool (I actually think it's just fine. A bit over rated)
8. Apocalypse
9. Wolverine Origins
10. Last Stand

I haven't seen The Wolverine yet. I also don't consider Deadpool part of the X-Men universe proper. I don't care if they show Xavier's school and a couple low-rent team members, the two worlds are night and day.

:hscratch: It's pretty well regarded(86%/87% on RottenTomatoes), if anything it's vastly overrated. We've been over it in multiple X threads but outside of Charles & Eric the rest of the cast & plot isn't up to snuff.

I need to see Logan before participating but I can say that X-Men 3 is easily the worst by a longshot. They'd have to crank out 2-3 more duds before even moving the needle on that one.

Off the top of my head right now...

X2
Days of Future Past
Logan
The Wolverine
Deadpool
X-Men
First Class
Apocalypse
Last Stand
X-Men Origins

I'm in the group that thinks First Class is overrated, although it's a fine and watchable movie. I actually don't hate any of the movies in the X-Men franchise, although Last Stand and Origins certainly have a lot of issues and Apocalypse felt inconsequential.

Deadpool is in its own universe, that's for certain.

I voted for Logan but almost went for Days of Future Past. I can honestly accept another X-Universe movie with the McAvoy led crew as long as it is evident that Logan remains as the finale for everything. It's the perfect finale IMO.

At the moment at least:

Logan
First Class
Days of Future Past
The Wolverine
X-2: X-Men United
X-Men
The Last Stand
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Apocalypse

It's been a while since I've watched the original trilogy aside from the first film but that's about the order I remember liking them. Also even though it has ties to the X-Men universe I kind of view Deadpool as it's own thing.

Yeah, as much as I loved the thrill and adrenaline of X1, this Logan movie just had it all. With such a simple story, it delivered heartfelt emotion, amazing action sequences and a bad guy that might have seemed gimmicky a decade ago, but with competent hands like Mangold, this Wolverine story was rich and full and complete.

Haven't seen Logan, Origins, or Wolverine, but of the remaining, I've enjoyed everything I've seen except Last Stand which seemingly killed any attempt at moving forward with existing characters and killed key X-Men in the process (stoopid), and I'm not counting Deadpool as an X-Men movie even though there are a couple of "X-Men" in it. Hard for me to rate, but:

X2: X-Men United (ambitious well-crafted story)
X-Men (soft spot)
Days of Future Past (Sentinels, bitches!)
First Class (entertaining)
Apocalypse (also entertaining)

X2: X-men United - It’s been years since I’ve seen it but I remember it being an all-around fun movie that had a pretty bitchin’ cliffhanger...Too bad they shit the bed with part 3.

Wolverine - Awesome setting and decent story. The final baddie was a little disappointing but everything else is great.

Xmen - The first and one of the best. I liked it but didn’t love it the first time I saw it and my opinion hasn’t changed much since then.

Logan - Filmwise, probably the best of the series. It just felt too damn depressing to me.
.
.
.
X-men: First Class
X-men: Days of Future Past
X-men: Apocalypse - Honestly, the series lost me with the last bunch of movies. They weren’t good, they’re weren’t fun, and they decided to capitalize on Jennifer Lawrence’s stardom rather than making quality movies.

Origins: Wolverine - Barely remember anything about this except that it wasn’t very good.

X-men: The Last Stand - Fuck you Brett Ratner! All you have to do was pull the train into the station after parts 1 and 2 and you derailed the whole fucking train on a straightaway!

Dark Phoenix - This was shit. Almost didn’t finish it. Sophie Turner is not a strong enough actor to headline her own film.

Am I the only person who remembers that there have been two Deadpool movies?
Edit : No, whoever that Cyberpunk guy is remembers as well.

Dark Phoenix
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Apocalypse

Revised my list to add Dark Phoenix as well as the two Deadpool films. In a way I still view the Deadpool movies separately, but I suppose they are a part of the Fox X-Men films. Plus most others here are including them.

Overall most of my rankings stayed about the same or just moved slightly from one of the three added films.

X-2
Logan
Days of Future Past
Apocalypse (Gives me exactly what I want: Fun X-Men team action, finally)
X-Men
The Wolverine
Deadpool 2
First Class
The Last Stand
Deadpool (I simply cannot stand how overexposed it got)
Wolverine Origins
Dark Phoenix (Might get bumped up a spot or two if I ever decide to re-watch it)

1. X2: X-Men United (2003)
2. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) (I do not understand the hate this one gets)
3. X-Men (2000)
4. X-Men: First Class (2011)
5. Deadpool (2016)
6. The Wolverine (2013)
7. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
8. Logan (2017)
9. Deadpool 2 (2018)
10. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
11. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

I still haven't seen Dark Phoenix, but considering that I do not like Sophie Turner as Jean (at all) I'm not likely going to watch it any time soon. If ever.

But I do like all 11 of those movies. Even X-Men Origins: Wolverine (for all it's many flaws). I would just say that Apocalypse and Origins are OK. Not bad, fairly entertaining, but flawed.

You’re not missing much. It’s a pretty forgettable movie. I actually just watched it a couple months ago and I barely remember anything about it. Sophie Turner is fine but she’s out acted by the entire cast which isn’t good 1. Because this is supposed to be HER movie, and 2. The rest of the cast is basically sleepwalking through it. Half the cast looks like they are just waiting for their characters to be killed so they don’t have to show up on set anymore.

Its also about 15 years too late. This is a movie that should have been made following X2 but it really doesn’t matter because the script is mostly shit anyway.

Re: Rank the X-Men Universe movies...

^ I remember thinking it was decent enough while watching it, but it is completely forgettable. I agree that Sophie Turner is out of her league and then you have the problem of Jennifer Lawrence wanting to play anyone but Mistique, i.e. never in blue.

My favorite is Days of Future Past, mainly because I love time travel plots.
