Weird. I'm Apple across the board, so maybe it's just a matter of time . . .

I've got them all on Word documents, but scattered over hundreds of different documents. And they're not always the same, since I proofread them in the IMDB field and often make last-minute changes or additions and don't always copy those.

Is there a way to back them all up myself without having to copy and paste each one in a file?

Thanks.

Not sure, I'm afraid. I'm the guy that would copy-and-paste even if there was an easier alternative. It's too bad they don't have a way of collectively exporting reviews into a single file similar to the feature available for the ratings.

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

So basically the only thing left of value on IMDB are the cast lists and an actor's credits?

Don't worry, the ridiculous "Trivia" section is still there!

Not to mention the sometimes amusing but often just creepy "Parents Guide" section!

Are any of you guys still over at MovieChat.org? I'm loving it as I can say anything I want and people there are agreeing with me.

I can say whatever I want on any topic plus it's not an Orange Man Bad echo chamber.

the people that even IMDB wanted nothing to do with anymore... sounds like a real group of winners.

Necro reply, but I like to crosscheck people's filmography on both IMDB and Wikipedia. Plus, tons of people from the entertainment world don't have their own Wikipedia articles.

Yeah, I actually still use IMDB, I prefer it over Wiki for filmographies. I was just butthurt that IMDB was getting rid of their discussion boards, which I really enjoyed for older or more obscure foreign films that are hard to find insight on otherwise. I suppose at the time I wanted to stick it to them, but I'm weak and pathetic afterall.

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

I just checked out MovieChat. Yikes. Looks like they got all the dregs from the old IMDB boards. Currently they're trashing Kamala Harris, Chrissy Teigen, and saying how inappropriate it is for Disney to have made Mulan right now(I guess the morons think Disney just slapped this movie together in the last six months).

Thanks for taking one for the team. I assumed if bluelitespecial was high on it, it probably wouldn't be a place I'd even bother checking out. Sounds like:

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

Once again, IMDB is making this shittier. They're changing the layout, and unlike the last time, I don't see any way to opt out of this one. It's fucking horrible.

Ignoring all the crap on the sidebar, which I don't care about, there's so much less information on the screen, and it's way more awkward to read.

This is how it currently looks, if you want to see an actor's filmography, and is a default view when you go to the actor's page:

This is the 'new' look, which you only see once you click on 'Actor':

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

That sucks. I used to submit a lot of items to IMDB, but I've stopped. Every time they "upgrade" it just makes it harder for me.

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

Yeah, the upgrades are never a good thing. This one is the worst, yet.

Good call on not accepting the sneak peek. Once you do, you can't get rid of it without deleting the IMDB cookies.

It'd be nice if they were at least asking for feedback, but the removal of the forums tells me they don't care about the feedback, anyway.

Re: IMDb is shutting down their message board

I’ve been using their app on my iPhone for so long now that I’ve haven’t been aware of these upgrades. They don’t seem to affect the app, though, which is cool. I’m sure that’s being updated all the time, too, but I find it ideal to use while I’m watching stuff, or immediately afterward.
