Re: Chuck Norris Kicks The Bucket 1940-2026
Sad news. I was never a huge fan but my dad was. When I was growing up it seemed like he always had a Chuck Norris movie playing on Saturday afternoons.
I’ve just never really been into martial arts movies or cheesy 80s action flicks. He was definitely an 80s icon though! The scene in Invasion U.S.A. where the guy jams the cocaine straw through that lady’s nose did more to keep me off drugs than any D.A.R.E. Classes or lectures I got when I was younger, that’s for sure! The best anti-drug campaign I ever saw was that 30 second clip! |

I heard Chuck Norris was the only man to count to infinity... twice.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I read that he was hospitalized last night while on vacation in Hawaii with his family. But, I didn’t think he was in that bad condition from what it sounded like. Yeah he was 86, but was probably in better shape than the vast majority of men younger than him. He trained constantly. I’m very sad reading this today. I have most of his movies on physical media and own every season of Walker Texas Ranger on DVD. Hell, one of the first movies I recall seeing in the theater was “A force of one” in 1979. I was only 6 and my Mom just happened to take me to see it and I became an instant fan.

God had the better roundhouse.

Re: Chuck Norris Kicks The Bucket 1940-2026
I highly recommend Lone Wolf McQuade. It’s the prototype for Walker but 10x more absurd.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I know his movies aren’t for most here. But, Code of Silence I think is a genuinely great Chicago Cop thriller. It’s directed by Andrew Davis, who directed Under Siege and The Fugitive, and is very well made and looked like it had a decent budget.

I hope he would have made it past 100 but 86 is a long life. RiP. Maybe I'll watch Invasion USA tonight.

In any case, sad to hear. I was a casual fan, but my dad absolutely loved him. He even got to work behind the scenes (vehicle maintenance) during the filming of Invasion U.S.A., parts of which were filmed a couple hours north of where we lived, and got to meet Norris. |
Re: Chuck Norris Kicks The Bucket 1940-2026
Awe. He had a unique style among the testosterone pumped action stars of the 80's and 90's.
I saw something that mentioned "sudden death". Was it a "healthy guy has a heart attack"? No battles will illness. Lost to a 2mm piece of arterial plaque. |
Re: Chuck Norris Kicks The Bucket 1940-2026
RIP, Ranger guy. Chuck never really made it that big but he did his thing.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
It’s a shame that his final film, which hasn’t been released yet, is a comedy with Vanilla Ice. He has a small part in it.

Invasion USA has been in my queue... guess I know what I'm watching tonight.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
Wasn't a huge fan but he was an icon.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I just went to Amazon and ordered Breaker, Breaker, Firewalker and yes the Hanna Barbara cartoon Chuck Norris and the Karate Kommandos. Those are some of the last few movies and shows of his I need.
Stll need Top Dog and Sidekicks. Slaughter in San Francisco is an odd one because he plays a villain, is dubbed in English and it’s a small part. There is also Forest Warrior, which was a TV movie in the 90s, but I think is OOP. |

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
In the 80s and 90s he wasn't really on my radar. I watched one or two of his movies, but not the good ones.
A few years back I was in the mood for an 80s action flick, but I wanted something new to me. I checked out the Missing in Action movies and kind of liked them. Now I always turn to one of his movies when I am in a similiar mood. I think this weekend I will be in the mood. |
Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I remember my dad and I use to watch Walker, Texas Ranger. Good times.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
RIP
I watched a Texas Ranger episode last year with Hulk Hogan as a guest star and now both of them are gone. It seemed Chuck would live to 100 or longer since he kept in shape and did not look that old for his age. I remember him for those exercise infomercials with Christie Brinkley. He never remade or rebooted those 80's action flicks unless there was not a demand for them. |
Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
Chuck Norris does not "rest in peace." Peace is just afraid to move when near Chuck Norris.
My sister said, "Chuck Norris has actually been dead for 20 years, but no one has the courage to tell him." |
Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I remembered him more for Walker Texas Ranger than any of his movies. RIP.
|
Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
Saw him in a lot of films, starting with RETURN OF THE DRAGON and then THE GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK. The highlights were LONE WOLF MCQUADE, CODE OF SILENCE, and, my favorite 42nd Street movie experience, INVASION USA. Also, it was great seeing his memorable cameo in EXPENDABLES 2.

Re: The Chuck Norris Appreciation Thread (1940-2026)
I think I was more of a fan of his "Pop Icon/Legendary Superhero" status than his actual films. Either way, RIP man. Clearly you made a HUGE POSITIVE impact on Society and MADE PEOPLE HAPPY. That's a Big Deal.

I don’t know why he did Agent Recon. Maybe as a favor to someone.
Going to pretend his true final role was in Expendables 2. |
