UPDATE 3:

Carrie Fisher is in ICU, not stable, says brother.

He also addressed an earlier comment attributed to him, in which he was alleged to have said his sister was in “stable condition.” “I don’t know where they got that word from. That is absolutely not even close to the truth. We don’t know. We hope for the best. We certainly do not know her condition, that’s why she is in ICU. I’m sure everyone wants to speculate but now is not the time for that.”

re: RIP Carrie Fisher (1956-2016)

True story...I was getting an autograph from Carrie and the guy in front of me in line said something sexist or offensive to her (I can't remember exactly what he said), and Carrie autographed his photo:

"FUCK YOU! Love, Carrie Fisher"

This is why I love her.

I find the lack of updates on Carrie Fisher's health disturbing.

Yeah, I guess doctors have done all they can and everyone's hoping for some improvement.

I'm genuinely afraid that the next update we hear is that she's been taken off of life support.

From Ryan Parker on Twitter:

Just spoke with Carrie Fisher’s family: “No official update right now.”
I think they may just be waiting until after Christmas to give us the bad news or to make the decision.

Feel terrible for her daughter, Billie. I read Wishful Drinking last year and though she entered motherhood late, she was clearly very devoted to her.
It's a terrible thing to happen anytime, but especially this time of the year.

Apparently Debbie was doing rough for a while. Carrie mentioned on NPR recently that they thought they were going to lose her, but she came back from the edge. This ain't gonna help.

re: RIP Carrie Fisher (1956-2016)

If anyone is interested she was just on this season's episode 10 of The Graham Norton show. I had it in my queue and just watched it last night.
I see it on demand on DirecTV, if you search other showings.
She didn't talk a whole lot as the others dominated the talking. She was on to promote her book The Princess Diarist.

She comes across as a genuinely nice person with mental health problems. I hope she comes out of this okay.

re: RIP Carrie Fisher (1956-2016)

I hope she pulls through. It's been a rough couple of years, losing Robin Williams, Leonard Nimoy, Lemmy, David Bowie, Prince, Alan Rickman, and so many others that have meant a lot to me for a long time, that I hope 2016 goes out with some good news.

Whew, stable condition is a positive update.

Had no idea Debbie Reynolds was on Twitter.

Guys, "stable condition" doesn't mean much other than her condition is not changing. Joan Rivers and Bobbi Kristina Brown were both reported to be in stable condition at some point after their incidents that caused them to lose oxygen to their brains.
